I've been studying on and off for a week. The exam is tomorrow and I know that I'm not prepared. This exam is dumb and asks such random questions. I know this because thats how the practice tests online are. Random. I'm trying my best. I hate life and health insurance.

What can I do to cram all this in my head by tonight for tomorrow morning?

Just try your best & review what you know-- it would totally suck if you got something wrong that you studied before.

read.
try to pair two or three keywords in a sentence together, and say them a few times. pick things that sort of make sense, like a major mini-sentence. if you need to remember a sequence, you can write it a few times and/or repeat by step. like, if you need to remember "cat, dog, elephant, dog, dog, cat, dog", you can say "cat dog", "dog elephant", "cat dog elephant", "dog elephant", etc...
don't skip over the details! sometimes the small things are as important as the overall things.

skim through notes and such a few times. read a page or a few paragraphs, then read a few more, then go back and read what you first read, then what you first read again and the second thing you read. you can do this with simple sentences, too.

those are little things that help me...they seem stupid but really make a difference.

Try to review with friends. Don't study for 5 hours, just for a good 30 minutes and then take a break. When you're ready to review, go back to your notes.

It also helps to re-read the textbooks/notes/review sheets/study guides right before you go to sleep. _smile.gif

I procrastinate way to much. When it comes remembering things, I usually read them over and try to quiz myself quickly on what I remembered. Then I do it before I go to bed and read it over once more before the test.

I do the same. I have my classmates test me in the beginning of class as well.

For the love of God, do not pull all-nighters. DO NOT. You should get at least 7 hours of sleep, preferably 8 (but not more than that). Your body will simply be able to retain and retrieve information easier when you're well rested. Have you found sometimes, when you're stressed out, you just blank out and forget things? Lack of sleep is just going to add to the stress and make it worse.

I pulled two literal all-nighters in a row first semester. I turned in my last essay and fell asleep in class. But I got B's on 2, and an A on the third, so it could have been worse.

Second semester I wrote things half an hour before they were do and got A's on every paper.

But I have the worst study habits ever. I just cram at the last minute all the time, because I know that most of the time it'll get me by. But most of the time it gets me by with B's, which kind of sucks.
Tomates
i get too distracted no matter what when i study.
I always say im going to break that habbit and do better.
but i always fall back into the same routine.
then ia get a firm bitching from my mother
leyvacu

its absolutely necessary lol it cuts into
my party time...yet i maintain a 3.7 gpa
anywhoo the best craming to me has
always been to studying hard an hour or two
b4 but in the exact enviorment ur gonna be
taking the tezt...its easier to recall what
u are studying this way

I would say studying with friends or a group of people is a really good way to study (unless they`re bad people to study with).
As for cramming, just review the things that you know you don't know. Don't spend time on things that you already know.
xstarstruckk
my study habits could not be worse.
i don't open my textbooks until the night before the test and then i study for two or so hours with crappy little notecards and i end up acing every test.

it's bizarre.
i'm one of those people who never has to try hard to do well on something.

I keep thinking this thread is about hobbits. = =''

Anyways, I never pull all-nighters. Or at least I try to avoid them. If I don't get least 6 hours of sleep, I feel like complete and utter shit the next day. And energy drinks usually f**k up my system even more.
As for habits, I usually do it in front of my computer with music on. But if I get distracted, I either move to the kitchen or go to the library.
