if i put what i want on notepad and have a webhost and PHPBB how does it get on my computer to the internet for everyone to see?
Anarchy
Save the notepad file as whatever.htm, whatever.html, or whatever.php and upload it using an FTP program. You can do this several times for more pages. Just change the title to what you want to call the page. Like if you save the file as index.htm, upload it through FTP, then go to http://whateveryoursiteis.com/index.htm, it will appear there. If you name another file as about.html, upload it through FTP, then go to http://whateveryoursiteis.com/about.html, it will appear there.

I don't know about using BB code though. Wouldn't you rather use regular HTML? And if you need help looking for FTP programs, just search for some in Google. They'll have lots of choices. _smile.gif

thanks for the reply. what FTP program is mostly used or recommended?
Anarchy
Here is a small list of FTP programs to choose from:

- FileZilla
- SmartFTP
- CuteFTP
- RightFTP
- CoreFTP
- JFTP
- FireFTP

Personally, I go with SmartFTP. But it's your choice. _smile.gif

Is it possible to view a site that you made without a webhost(i know others cant view just the maker)?...using a WYSIWYG site?

You can always use free sites to test your codes and see how your pages will look. FreeWebs is a good one. However, I don't know of a free site that allows PHP pages. Just a note in case you're using PHP to code your site.

Hyperphp allows PHP, but the downtime is pretty much horrible

well i plan on putting it in a webhost but i just wanted to know so i can make it, then when im ready to pay the webhost it will be already made and ready to go. so can you do it without any free sites either?

btw "Just a note in case you're using PHP to code your site." what do mean, dont you have to code everything?
