Even though I'm a girl I have to admit I don't know what to wear most of the time.
So tomorrow I'm going to a fundraising thing for cancer and I was told to dress semi-formal and I don't know what that would be.
Is that semi-formal or too formal?

Semi-formal for fundraising cancer?? Hmm...personally, for me, I think the dress is a little too much. I would suggest wearing like pants, but not jeans with a nice shirt.

I would say thats a little too formal.
If i were you i would find out from someone that you know and ask what their wearing.
If not i would find a nice skirt and a nice shirt.
(nice skirt meaning something that isnt a jean skirt)

It's better than the first one but that's still a bit too formal. This is kind of what semi-formal looks like:

(I'm talking about the girl on the left.) But that dress would definitely work as semi-formal.

I hate the term "semi-formal." It's too vague.
I would go with a pair of non-jean pants or skirt and a nice shirt.

I think a dress is a little too formal. Depending on if it's indoors or out and how long you are going to be there, I would say go with a nice pair of dress pants (probably black) and nice dressy top.

I would wear a simple jersey dress with no pattern.

ditto.
i hate the terms "semi-formal" and "business casual", you're never really sure what to wear.

right? i mean even if you have an idea you're never really sure. for some people its one thing and for others its the complete opposite... it's like "make up your damn mind".

it's so annoying.

I think as long as it isn't "formal" you're always safe with black pants a nice dressy top. 'Cause then if everyone else is wearing a dress, you can still fit in. Rather than wearing jeans, lol.

yeah and when you think its "semi formal" and you go to the place and you either seem under-dressed or over-dressed either way.
Atleast thats what happens to me usually.
