So in a list created by IMDb in which ranks are determined by votes made by the sites regular users, The Dark Knight was voted the #1 movie of ALL time & it actually de-throned The Godfather, which was in the #1 spot since the late 90's. This happened in only 4 days! Started out in the #4 spot and moved its way up to #1!

National Lampoon's Quest for Festeroo is nowhere to be found.

There's quite a few movies on that list that I haven't seen. So whether or not it's true to my personal tastes, I can't say. I think, though, that they need to get movies on that list that have at least close to the same amount of votes. Some of those movies only have 6,000 votes while others have 300,000+.

#1 = the dark knight haha. i loved that movie

Well, like Dee said, some movies had way more votes than the others. Over these next few months, I can see the rating for The Dark Knight go down. I'm not saying that it was a bad movie, in fact I thought it was incredible, but it's just that the ratings are a little skewed right now. But it was certainly the best film I have seen all year, and definitely in the top twenty films I have ever seen.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Back to the Future, Les Diaboliques, and The Lion King.

There are a lot of big and French movies on that list that I want to see.

Don't tell me you did not go see this movie to get the Unlimited edition rare Ancient Mew card.

I actually did see it to get that card. I was such a nerd.

There is an algorithm that balances out those sorts of discrepancies; so, really, it's all "fair" in the end.

As goes the list itself, it sucks. Most populist created opinion polls are pretty f**king awful (easily explained by the ignorance and stupidity of people). The fact that a movie can raise up to the number one spot (especially a comic-super-hero movie) so easily and with such immediacy only demonstrates the complete illegitimacy of these sorts of lists. Nonetheless, there are some really fantastic films in the list (inevitably). But, in the same vain, there are some movies that are either completely undeserved or rather bad.

hey, that was a fairly good movie.

My friend, who's a crazy movie critic, LOVES Princess Bride. It's all the way up there in his top 20 movies.

I've never even seen that movie. For some reason a movie with the title "Princess Bride" doesn't appeal to me.

^ Because I fell asleep through it. And I was a kid, too, with a thing for animated movies!. Beauty and the Beast > Lion KingI did watch The Princess Bride at 2 in the morning though, so maybe I didn't understand why it was so awesome. Too tired to make an effort haha.

I remember that movie, and if you asked me my favorite movie back then it would have been this. One of my favorite movies now is Mr. and Mrs. Smith, because it was hilarious and violent.
