Omg... for the first time i think that there is such thing as a good american anime... Nickeleon sure has made some crappy shows but man... this show really has potential its one of the most hilarious and a very unqie type of anime

there's no such thing as American ANIME. It'd be called cartoon, or something.

I love the show. My dad, brother, and I make sure to be home everytime we know there's going to be a new episode. lol...Nickelodeon did good with this one.

It seems like Cartoon Network (and all it's american anime-wannabe cartoon glory) has all the bad "anime"s when they're expected to be good. I really don't have a taste for Totally Spies, Teen Titans, Puffy Amiyumi, or any of the new idiot fake-anime shows they're making. All the good shows are either on Adult Swim (Inuyasha, Wolf's Rain) or they've been canceled.
I haven't actually watched Avatar, but from the few parts I've seen it looks kind of childish. I'm not particularly impressed. The animation's good though.

It wasn't Japanese made. So that would conclude thata the last air bender is not and will never be an 'anime'. It's called a cartoon. when i first heard of it, I thought it was full of robots, but when i watched it, It's like avatars running around with big arrow marks on their heads..

How could you say they have bad anime? They have Teen Titans, SAILOR MOON, DBZ.. They don't suck.

Avatar is seems to be Drawn beyond anime infact it makes me proud to be a american actually Avatar has a little cartoonish look to it and a anime theme it shall be called toonime

This is how he meets them (Ang,Katara,Sokka) for long periods of time Deem would train in the spirit world ever since the first avatar Rocu was alive and there was to much chaos for him so when he was 2 his parents took him to the spirit world so he would be safe from the fire-nation his parents died in a battle to protect young Deem from the fire nation the lightning tribe was faught off with there powerful flaming attacks they searched every where not finding any trace of DEEM but he is really in the spirit world training 88 yrs. not getting younger in the spirit world not getting older in the spirit world but DEEM didn't always stay in the spirit world so for the remaining 12 years he gradually and slowly got older when he visited the real world always looking for strong challengers to fight that's when he see's Ang training and...attacks, Ang is off guard but Ang strikes back with a powerful water/air combination attack Ang traps Deem into a massive air tornado and adds water to make it an hurricane but Ang doesn't know that Deem has super ultra jolting lightning attacks that would counter Ang's hurricane and shocks Ang he falls on the ground and laugh's at Deem's success in beating him in a battle Deem is mostly serious when fighting but playful in every thing else even stealing Ang says "hey want to join are party" Deem accepts the offer he meets Katara and thinks she's really really really pretty but Sokka thinks he's just another trouble maker leading them to the fire nation but Katara really likes him and trust him so does Ang to the fire nation got's a price on his head because he stole from the fire nation but Deem doesn't got the bravery to tell his new friends while there in there in the tents that Deem brought and making camp fires the fire nations boats will arrive at ant minute Deem bunks with Katara and asks her about her tribe she doesn't respond he grabs forcefully and demands an answer she screams Ang and Sokka comes rushing in the tent "What happen""uh nothing" says Katara "why did you want to know about my tribe so much""no reason I'm just" boom the ship crashed against the sand its the fire nation "hand over the boy"who Deem" said Katara yes don't play stupid Katara said "Deem I trusted you why didn't you tell us I trusted you you you jerk have him I don't care if they de head you or what ever just leave to be continued...... Yeah, Nickelodeon has had some CRAPPY shows lately. I was really surprised at how good this one actually was. Especially compared to the really bad ones...

lol its not that bad; though the first few episodes were kinda lame and childish. it got better

The good shows are real anime. The good one`s are actually bad because they are dubbed and have been stripped of their original Japanese-ness.

The Avatar is not an anime. The definition of anime is Japanese animation, so there are no American-Anime.

I think Avatar is really cool. It's one of the first american children's shows (is it?) that i've liked. Everything else is so stupid and hopeless. Air bending would be awesome xD

I watched it last night while I was bored, and I'm amazed to say that... It's pretty good!

Wow people love to stay on the same anime generalizations which are;

-American anime automatically sucks
-Anime dubbed automatically sucks

I'd like to think of anime as something made in japan/asia or something. But now when people see shows like Teen Titans and The Avatar, ooooO it's American Anime now. They just cartoons using anime elements perhaps.

Well enough of that. I like the avatar. Has great animations. I love the action. But since it's Nicks'. it had to be childish.

Your right about that, cuz if they keep on imitating it like that, its gunna develop more and more and more untill people won't even know the difference between anime or the cartoons! Well, thats what i predict wat'll happen in the future...although i still think of them as cartoons rather than american anime...cause its not anime<.<

just as a note for all of you that state this is not "anime".... the word "anime" was adopted into the japanese language from the french word "animé" meaning cartoon. the word in japanese means cartoon and simply that. it referes to both shows such as Neon Genesis as well as Looney Toons. so from a linguistic perspective....you're wrong to an extent. as to the show itself....entertaining at times. better than watching kids next door, and kimpossible in between Adult Swim viewings and Teen Titans.

I agree about the fact that there is no such thiing as american anime. It's a cute show tho. I love watching it. It is kinda kiddy, but hey, we're watching cartoons, how can it NOT be kiddy? (Unless you count the anime hat's fairly close to PORN). My sister and I watch it occassionally. I think I've missed a bunch tho. O well. Still cute.

I think that its pretty cool for american animation, it has its childish moments, but it has good morals (sometimes) and the animation is japenese style so that makes it that much cooler
