Does the image in this layout look like it has poor quality to anyone?

_smile.gif Thanks for reply. Yeah because they rejected it saying the image was poor quality. Do you know if they just look at the screen shot and not the live view?
nikx618
it look fine,
CB 'standards' are extremely high.
they wont let you get by with anything.
ive been having a lot of layouts rejected
for various reasons. but i really
dont think that your layout should have been rejected.
highwayto4355
mods with the power to go through the queue do in fact look at live previews.

i believe the reviewer might have been referring to the background image.

I thought that at first, but I think it is supposed to be like that.

You saved the image as a jpg, so the quality is going to be lower. Next time, try saving it as a png. The image doesn't look bad though, CB is just SUPER strict. I seriously doubt any regular myspace user would complain about it.

I think the background is low quality. The image up top is a bit low quality, too, but only because it's a little blurry.

Anyway, can layouts that hide the ad be accepted?
ForgiveTheSinner
The image is a tad blurry, just a bit though. Maybe sharpen it a little.
nikx618
^yeeah, i looked at it again. its the smallest amount of
blurry, something nobody would notice unless
well, you're a cb mod. [x

I think they can because i've seen layouts on this that have been accepted that hid it.
ironicsilence
Well my layout got rejected again and not even for the same reason so I dont know what to do.

Thanks for reply everyone.

Ditto.

They shouldn't be. However, a lot of the time the ad is hidden in the preview, but it won't be when you install the layout on your MySpace. If that's the case, then the designer will usually say that in the Designer's Comments area.

ironicsilence, CB mods always look at the live preview when reviewing layouts.

Nope it shouldn't hide the ad either, also the image looks like it could have come from deviant art or another resource like that, so if you didn't take the picture and it could be copyrighted then you need to leave proper credit or ask the original photographer if you can use such image in a layout if it is indeed copyrighted.

Also the background stripes abruptly stops in larger resolutions and it should be repeated because layouts MUST work in all resolutions.
Tung
For sure. The image sucks ass.

Topic Closed.

You can tell it's slightly LQ. Not from the blood stains really, but from the actual book. Also, where the tape meets the white area it's a bit blurry.
Tomates
I think it looks fine

but didnt you have a different image before?
it was purple..
ironicsilence
oh i had changed it...I'll put it back up if someone else looks at it.

I was just messing around with another image, thats why it was different.

(if anyones wondering the image i was talking about is a music layout not the book layout)
wolfreak_99
not bashing cb or anything. but this is why i have 2 accounts on different sites. theres another site called i submit my layouts there. theyre a little more lenient than cb. cb is still a good site and all, just they kinda enforce too much "high resolution" rules..

once i submitted a layout, they rejected it for being too distorted, and told me to kinda put some blur on it.. so i did.. then i resubmitted it, and it got rejected for being too blurry... so i just decided to submit it to my account. lol

but hey. this site is still really useful for submitting scripts.

[please dont think im trying to spam createblog, im not trying to do that in any way.]

^ get your f**ken advertisement shit out of here prick.
Aberisk
I think you could have brighten your image and get rid of the drop shadow on the text and use a better font and the background is grungy but I think the message you want to portray is music is peaceful right? I personally dont think they are very smoothly matching :] just my opinion :]
9001
It's more than the image that sucks.

I removed the URLs and your post still makes sense, haha.

If you submit a layout and it is rejected, don't submit the same thing again hoping that a staff member is going to let it slide by. Once a layouts been rejected, you shouldn't resubmit it unless you get permission from a staff member. (Sometimes people submit things and the images don't get rehosted or there's a bad feed somewhere, so they have to resubmit).

That layout is low quality. There's really no way around it. The background abruptly stops and the ad covers the entire layout image, so I can't say if that part of it is low quality. I'm glad that you've found a site that likes your stuff thumbsup.gif Here we take designing a little more seriously.

Standards are extremely high.. standards are dropping dramatically.. CB needs to make up its mind. pinch.gif
lovehimvillevalo
I had quite a few icons rejected because of low quality but I saw a lot of other ones that were worse quality than the one I submitted so I dont know. When CB rejects my stuff I usually have a few other backup sites that I just go submit my stuff to and they accept them. Thats why im working on my own site. Then all my graphics will be in one place rather than having to go to 4 different sites to see all my graphics.
