Can anyone recommend a host that offers support for Ruby on Rails and also allows at least one subdomain?

surpasshosting.com is relatively inexpensive and supports add-on domains as well as additional subdomains for each. Out of the hosts I'm familiar with (meaning I've dealt with them before), it's the only one that explicitly states that it offers support for Rails unless I just didn't look hard enough. I'm sure there are others, but this is a host I've used before, and I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending something I've never used. xD Worth checking out, though - this is the link to their shared hosting page:

it really depends on your budget and how fast and reliable you want it to be (and of course how intense your applications are).
dreamhost has just recently started ruby on rails. how reliable they are depends on which server you get. people complain that they suck, but i still have a domain with them after two years and i'm running at 99.6% uptime. can't really go wrong. i believe it's $120 per year & promotional codes make it cheaper. ("50DREAMPROMO" gives you $50 off.)
if you want fast, fast, fast, there's mediatemple. they're expensive ($20 / mo), but if you pay per year, i believe it's something like a 15% discount. there are some promotional codes floating around the net, none of which i've been able to find yet.

I just need it to host my blog, so I'm not too concerned about stability per se.
Have you written a Rails application, libertie?

I did a simple shopping cart application a couple years back, but nothing big and it wasn't pretty. Hey, did you still want that Ruby on Rails book that I have? You might already have it by now.

Oh, yeah! Forgot about that. No, I don't have any RoR books, so I could definitely use one.

Incidentally, I decided to go with A Small Orange, which is dirt-cheap but has a lot of cool features.
