This movie was amazingly cute! I got plenty of laughs and heartwarming "aww"'s out of this. He's really lovable If you're into cute animation and a somewhat-random storyline, you should definitely watch this. Plus, it's cool that he has emotions. Those eyes... So cute!

I almost teared up at the end. But yea, I saw it at the midnight showing last night. ;x

These types of movies typically do really well at the box office. There has been a lot of hype around this movie... and now whenever I go to IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes this is the ad I see. I will probably wait to see it though... until I can watch in my house... so no one will know I've seen it.

I just watched it with a group of friends... GREAT MOVIE!!! Seriously, I can't even begin to describe how amazing it is. This movie really has it all - adventure, action, comedy (the audience LOL'd), AND romance! Plus the short film that was showed before the movie, Presto, was really really good also.

Haha yea it was really cute! Oh man, I want a cute bunny like that! Haha watching people get hurt is always funny if it's random and in animation. :P



Seriously though, this move definitely lives up to it's hype. I think what makes this movie so great is that you don't need a lot of fancy shmancy dialogue to make a movie awesome. Honestly, there was not much of a back story, and none was needed, since it was all subtly unraveled throughout the storyline.

^ Well said. I really liked how there was almost no dialogue for the entire first half of the movie! Just watching Wall-E and Eve's body language was enough. =D

Kids would enjoy it, but it's definitely enjoyable for teens/adults too. The theatre was JAM-PACKED, Harry Potter opening day style, and 80% of the people were adults. The whole theatre LOL'd at the funny parts...you should persuade your friends to go watch it with you.

I just watched it today! I thought it was adorable....! Though, didn't you guys feel that it was more romance than it was action? =P

Yeah, it kind of bugged me...I mean I agree with it and everything, but pushing a not so subtle political message in a kids movie isn't cool. Otherwise I really liked this movie. Very cute, well done. And love the roach.

i also love that the majority of the parts had no dialogue but this movie turned out amazingly well. to be honest, i thought it was gonna be one of those hyped up movies that was gonna be just okay, even if it is from pixar, but dang. pixar doesn't fail me. D;

Why isn't it "cool"? Because children's minds are too delicate to learn of consequences for their actions? I think what you said was a little unfair, because the issues that the movie put out aren't harmful to children at all. I hate how children must be patronized just because they're young - they deserve to know what could happen if we continue our lifestyles the way they are now. And they get too little credit - children are inexperienced, but not stupid.

If I was a child, this movie about robots falling in love and saving the world would have a much larger impact on me than a 16-year-old mermaid falling in love and getting married, or a snoozing princess that marries a dude she met one day for a few hours.

What Wall-E was trying to tell us was two things: 1) We must respect the environment, and not be lazy or selfish, and 2) If you persevere against people (or robots) who oppose you, you can start anew (and save humankind!) The movie started off pretty glum, but in the end, things were saved. I mean, what's so wrong about that? I learned about taking care of the environment when I was in the first grade, and my mind isn't corrupted by Disney-Pixar's movies that carried a message and caused me to think.

Like I said, I agree with the message they are pushing. I understand it, and I absolutely believe it is true. I don't doubt that children are intelligent. Or that they understand many many things.

To me it felt more like the movie was trying to preach about a materialistic lifestyle and where it will get you. It wasn't so much respecting the environment and being lazy, but more about corporate america. Remember when they were on the Axiom and the people saw the advertisement saying blue is the new red? They pushed a button and were wearing blue. The planet was trashed because BNL pushed all their products, and consumption became more than anyone could handle. So they left on a 5 year cruise while it got cleaned up. (Which was also sponsored by BNL) The babies in the nursery were being taught their ABC's. A is for Axiom, B is for Buy N Large....everyone was brainwashed.
Remember the movie Josie and the Pussycats? Same concept.

What is the world like today? It is constant advertisements for the newest thing in fashion, technology, cars, food, etc. It is all about what you can own, and the status that comes with it. Even becoming green has become somewhat a status.

Edit: And in The Little Mermaid's defense, at least she didn't need to be rescued and then married prince charming. She was pretty independant.

Or some girl with a wicked stepmother who gives her a poisoned apple. :O

Wait, sorry - you agreed with the message, right? The stuff you said about corporate America and brainwashing, I mean. I don't quite understand - if you agree with it and you think that it's an issue, then why would you be opposed to it being exposed? I do agree that the message was biased, one-sided, and overexaggerated. That's the nature of an animated film though.

Oh, I like Ariel (she was independent), but I'm mainly pissed off with the fact that she was 16. Damn pedophiles. Yeah, I went through a phase where I watched all the old-time Disney movies with their princesses, and got really p-o'd at the messages sent at that time. I mean...seriously. How can you fall in love with someone you've met for 1 day?!? THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE. Case in point, Sleeping Beauty. Okay, so your marriage was arranged, but can you really fall in love with this dude that you did a musical number with in the woods?! No! And the Little Mermaid, on what grounds did she fall in love with him? She hardly knew the guy, and yet she was so desperate to become a human being, and the bargain was that he had to fall in love with her? Why was it all about the guys falling in love with the girls? PISSED ME OFF.

The only Disney "princess" movie I actually enjoyed was Beauty and the Beast, because Belle wasn't such a superficial bitch, and actually had reasons to love the Beast.

Honestly, I don't see a problem with "preaching" about such a materialistic lifestyle. I think the movie did it in a somewhat subtle way. It's not like they were using complex concepts with what little dialogue there was. I think you're straying from a larger concept here: Friendship

When Eve got the you-know-what, Wall-E was so worried that he tried everything to take care of her. For a robot who is used to cleaning and interacting with crickets, meeting someone/something else... it allows him to feel various emotions. And let's not forget what happened at the end.

agreed. i think the messages this movie had about being materialistic, about being loyal, about friendship, and about taking care of mother earth were all very well displayed and subtle. i enjoyed the movie and i loved taking my little cousins to see this. not only did they love it but they learned something too.

Yea I know what you mean. :[ Oh man, all those times where he risked his life... I wish the ending was drawn out a little more. Those Korean Dramas/Movies/JDoramas have built my tolerance for tearjerker moments. Damn those! But seriously, it was sad. :/

Agreed, Gigi. I saw a bunch of little WALL-E's at Wal-Mart, and they were all so clean!!! It just isn't the same.
