i'm not sure about the age... but i got mine done march of last year & it didn't hurt. it's like a pinch, then again some people are more sensitive than others.
the healing process (which i found a bit disturbing/disgusting) is about 2 months. you have to make sure you clean it everyday. & it will most likely get infected, but if you take care of it you'll be ok.

I think it depends on where you live. Around here when you are 16 it's a go. But not for tattoos.

My friends got it when they were 16 and it was legal and they said it didn't hurt at all.

Well, I had mine pierced at 15 at a jewelery shop with my friends.
I didn't need my parents.

18 I'd believe. I wonder if its different in other states though.

My friend got it done, and shes really freaked out by needles and stuff. But she got it done and she said it didn't hurt that bad. At first it did, but she didn't cry or anything. Its pretty fast, you get this spray to clean it and you have to keep the pus or what ever the hell comes out of it clean and out of it because if not it can dry up and it'll hurt like a son of a bitch to move it around, because you have to spin in everyday I believe.
