I am not trying to complain or anything, but it is really annoying when you submit a layout or something for approval, and their are 20 other layouts in the queue. And when your layout is FINALLY approved, it is stuck underneith 20 other layouts. So your layout never even makes it to the front page. Instead, it is on like the 3rd browsing page.
That just annoys me. I don't know if there is not enough people to approve layouts or what. I can understand with 5 or even 10 layouts in the queue, but I think 22 layouts is just too many.

What? If your layout isn't on the front page the moment it's accepted, then it was accepted out of order and quite frankly that means one of our staff members is doing something wrong.
But because we've been so clear with everyone about queue submissions being accepted in order, I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. Before anything else, how soon after the layout is accepted do you view the queue?

The layouts page can only display ten layouts at a time, so if more than that number is approved at once and/or after your layout is accepted, then of course your layout will be pushed back onto the second or third page.
Dani: I thought that layouts appeared in chronological order of submission after approval, not the order that they're accepted in?

Okay THIS is my last post, I keep saying that, LOL. xD
The layouts are assigned IDs before they are even approved, from the moment they're submitted. As soon as a layout is accepted, it shows up at the top of the layout list because it currently has the highest ID number. If a layout is accepted after that, the layout that was accepted before gets pushed down in the list. That is how the queue normally operates.
However, if a layout with a higher ID is approved before one with a lower ID (meaning it was accepted out of order), it will show up at the top and all the layouts that should have been accepted before that one will never get a change to be shown at the top of the list. I don't think that's what's happening, though.

Yeah, at some point your layout was on the front page...
But what is this really about? You are unhappy that you do not get proper presentation? A lot of people arn't on the front page for very long. Look right now.. That Bruce Lee layout is at the top.. However, as soon as we accept 4 new layouts, it won't be on the homepage.

That Bruce Lee layout is now third. x]
But yeah, there's really nothing to be done about not getting to be on the front page for long. It's just something that happens as staff members approve more layouts. I'm pretty sure that even though the newest layouts are the first things people see when they view the layouts page, they click to see at least a few pages of older layouts to see what else there is. Don't worry about your layout never being seen. It's also tagged and organized by color, so a person wanting to use your layout will most likely find it.

ok. I understand that. But when a person goes through and accepts 15 layouts in one sitting, most of them only get a few minutes of front-page time. Do you understand what I mean?
I don't want to sound like a complainer, it is just frusterating when you spend a few hours making a layout, and then it gets bearly any front page time because there are 10 layouts accepted right after it.

Personally, I think that the people who really care about the time and effort put into making layouts will go through all the new ones, regardless of whether or not they're on the front page.
I like to go through all the new ones I haven't seen before, even if it means clicking back a few pages. It's fun. :] I always find something interesting. If your layout stands out, then it's likely to be noticed even if it's not on the front page.

We understand your point, but we can't always accepts layouts so frequently that each layout gets more front-page time than it does right now. Maybe you just submitted your layout at a particularly busy time (for the staff members) or a day when a lot of people chose to submit layouts, or even both. That isn't our fault.
I repeat my point, also echoed by dreamstar7, that most people won't just look at the first page of layouts and then leave if nothing catches their eye. They'll most likely look through some pages of older layouts. I know that's the case with me.
I understand your frustration, but staff can't always approve layouts as fast as you'd like. We try to get it done as best we can.
