I am Graphic Design major, but unsure if I should save money and buy the Bamboo or if the Intuos3.

If it's part of your professional profession (redundant lol

) I would say go with the cintiq, since it has the screen display, where the bamboo and intuos, rely on some weird laser positioning.

i agree. they're a bit expensive but remember you're basically getting a computer screen that you can "write" on. if you don't actually want a new monitor, go with the 12WX. :]

Yes, I really want that one, but it is in the thousands and being an art student most of us just opt for either the bamboo or intuos. BUT you two are right. I have the bamboo for now (it was on sale for $80), but i do plan on saving up big time for that one.

the bamboo is a waste of money. i prefer the intuos3 as a starter wacom tablet. bamboos have only 512 pressure points & 2500 lines per inch, while the intuos has 1024 pressure points & 5000 lines per inch - far more accurate, especially on a tablet that's only 4x6.
for the future, unless you absolutely need a huge screen, go for the smaller ones. the smaller, the better, when it comes to 1024 pressure points. points that are closer together means much smoother lines and easier details.
