there was an earthquake on may 12th at sichuan, china. and it was strong enough to reach taiwan, japan, thailand and even pakistan. basically the whole china shook..

apparently what seriously sucks is that people had predicted this earthquake, but failed to act upon it. the local officials knew but did nothing. i should quote this but i've only read this in the local newspaper. it was reported that millions of frogs suddenly appeared on the streets to flee days before the earthquake.

i couldn't sleep a few nights ago and was up around 4:30am when i checked the news and this earthquake was breaking news. it seriously scared me when i heard about the many that were literally buried.

I donated to the earthquake relief thing a club at my school is doing. Such a strong earthquake...

Some Jehovah Witnesses showed up at my friend door today and I was reading about Judgement Day (which apparently, according to them, will last a thousand years. Wonder why they call its judegement DAY). Omigee guys it's a sign!

It's heartbreaking to see so many died and those who wants to live on can't survive. A friend in Chengdu (some 80km away from the epicenter) simply said that her hometown is shaking everyday.

May the dead rest in peace and the survivors get back to their normal life soonest possible.

its such a heartbreaking news. When I heard about this on last Tuesday I was SO shocked. I burst into tears when I saw the photos on the newspaper later. Dead,serious injuries,relatives crying...I feel so sorry for them. I hope god will comfort their soul.

On the news, there were reporters saying that a couple of days before the earthquake hit there had been thousands of frogs that were migrating away from the city. I'm trying to find out more but can't really find any information about the frogs online for some reason. Found one picture that's quite disturbing. On the news there were even videos...MUST FINDDDDDDD

my school's actually getting pretty involved in the rebuilding process since every summer our freshmen go to visit chengdu and we have some sort of school bond thing with them (students from our school thus have a stronger connection and feel more of an impact since they actually knew people who lived there). anyways, we're planning on fundraising for book bags that are about 30$ each with basic school supplies, half of the 30$ will go to families that have lost mothers or fathers, etc. It should work out pretty well in terms of having an immediate effect where students will be able to see their donations having an instant impact.

I can't believe there's been so many earthquakes. I donated some money in my school while they were going around. I hope they're be alright. Animals usually are the first signs of danger since they can sense it from miles and miles away. Oh, mother nature.
