I still can't believe only 4 countries and (now) 2 states allow same-sex marriage. The thought that it's a bad idea doesn't even occur to me.

I knew we had "civil marriages" but they weren't official, but now that PEOPLE are finally allowed their rights to friggin marry the person they love, it makes me proud that california isn't another "all talk, no walk" state. i feel like it's the 1920s and women are fighting for their right to vote.

Finally my people can be treated as actual citizens. America needs to realize that this ban on Gay Marriage is almost parallel to the Jim Crow Laws. One of the laws said that whites and blacks could not marry each other. Instead it's a man and a man/woman and a woman who can't get married. It's absolutely amazing how oppressive we still are of some minorities.
