As a teen im EXTREMLEY stressed. I'm stressed about work, school grades, friends, boys and everything else in between. At the end of the day it's like the only time to finally calm down and try to forget things.
What are some things you guys do to calm and relax yourselves?
I've tried taking on pilates

yup stress is always gonna be there in some way shape or form.
to take off the stress i go do something with friends. not just sit around and talk but actually go somewhere. i also write in a journal.
i hate feeling stressed!

oh yeah. stress is a killer

wait until you guys go to college! seriously, the stress level is kicked up, so it's best to know how to deal now.
for me, the best stress reducer is reading. seriously, whether it's a trashy tabloid or an epic novel, i just sit on my bed, open a window (if it's nice out), play some chill music and just read. or i take a bubble bath...ahhhh...
or if you guys get really stressed, seriously talk to your parents or someone you trust. it may be depression and not stress. just time manage correctly and take deep breaths.

Meditate. No lie. Take some time to yourself, light some candles and meditate.
Or call a friend and tell them about it. Everyone is different, some people like to talk about it, some people want to be left alone. Just find out the way that works best for you to deal with your stress.
Perhaps I should change my name to stresskiller as good luck for you.

put on the music, call up some friends, I've taken yoga before so occasionally that's an alternative. I also find swimming a good stress outlet!

We all get stressed out, it sucks.
I take dance classes, or just chill out on cB.

Haha, but yeh just take some time to relax or do something you really enjoy.

I'm not really prone to stress, especially work or school-related. If I get a bit fed up it's down to the local shop for some munchies, back home to a DVD or a video game.

I agree with Dee, meditating is a good way to relieve stress.
Also listening to music, writing in a journal, or talking a walk are good alternatives. It all depends on the person, really. For example, to relieve stress, I go on an MMO I play a lot and grind for a few hours, and it usually releases the stress. :)
Try different things and alternate to your personal style.

took the words right out of my head :)
except that i don't read when i'm stressed (because reading for school itself stresses me out), i definitely write in my journal, listen to some soothing music, or watch some tv.
like steph, i also now go on cb to take breaks!

well if i'm REALLY stressed out, i'll start crying. but when i'm not handling it like a baby, i'll take a nap, play video games or spend a few hours drawing.
and bubble baths work wonders <3.

i know exactly how you feel.when im really stressed i usually write in my journal.
(not just regular entries:
but i also write poems
&&
songs with it also.
it REALLY helps me)
i also end up doing something with my friends
or just going outside and taking ALOT of deep breaths.
i also sometime just go into my room and scream all my stress out.
it helps me when i feel like everything is on my shoulders.
(just make sure that you have something to drink afterword
or
your throat might hurt a bit.
=/ )

i'm only a freshman, but i feel like i HAVE to be studying and worrying about homework and crap all the time. i am at the top of my class in honors classes, but i am missing out on my old social life. as finals are approaching and stuff, i am gettting worried.
some people are telling me i should just relax and start hanging out with my frineds more. i am nervous my grades will take the plunge. but isn't having fun and enjoying yourself more important? i don't know, i am just a little confused on how to manage my time. any ideas?

I'm... highstrung to say the least. I stress about everything but school (my thought process before finals: Studying, or movie... Movie). I usually deal with stress in one of two ways. I either watch TV/use my computer/read, or I break as many things that don't really matter if they get broken as I can find (Note: I have learned from personal experience that parents hate it when you hurt the house, try to avoid it). Loud music is a must for either course of action.

masturbation can help with stress.
I usually just nap it off or think about things calmly and organize things I have to do by priorities.

I sleep when I'm stressed.
Or I put on my formal dresses. For some reason, wearing them calms me down.
Of course, I also punch windows.

There's something interesting about your question. Drug companies sometimes create drugs to deal with problems that aren't problems yet. Like creating a drug to deal with eating and then calling obesity a genetic disease- something like that. So- what if drug companies created a drug to deal with stress? Would the APA then decide that stress is a curable disorder?
Here's something else? When is something normal and not a disorder at all? For example- there are so many people on anti-depressant medication today? Everyone gets sad and the medicine is for those few who actually have a "disorder", but when does a "disorder" start and "normal" sadness begin? Humans are meant to feel- sad, angry, stress- it's our body's way to let us know we need to slow down and deal with something. Maybe some of the things we medicate for today aren't "disorders" but normal life. Will stress be like this? It's an interesting question and only time will tell.

I find that when i get home after a long days work, simply changing clothes makes me feel better. it's almost like taking off the day. you have to be careful about stress tho, because bad stress can have major negative effects on your health, so remember to try to take it easy sumtimes.
