ok.
So I'm wanting some nice things to wear this summer. But I'm actually not very fashionable at all. After growing out of baggy trousers and hoodys all day everyday. I'll only wear those every now and then now.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? ^____^

I would say start with the basics. A nice pair of shorts or capris that you can easily pair with a lot of different tops. I'm very self conscious of myself, and not very comfortable with myself, so I like to go the simple route of capris and layered TShirts. I just feel better when my tops are layered. Get some nice tank tops that you can wear by themselves or under other shirts.

Get a pair of good black short shorts (not tooo short). Then buy your tops according to their fit (tight shorts = flowy tops, loose shorts = tighter fitting tops). Wear flats if you're not comfortable in flip flops... no heels w/ shorts unless it's night time imo, or else it will look like you're trying too hard.

For shoes you can always wear vans or converse lo-tops
or flats (:
and shorts, I like bermuda shorts usually, and they don't show your entire leg, if you're worried about that (:

Deffinately go with flats. You can wear them with almost anything.

All that basic slim capri/short stuff, flats... Summer is great for layering thin pieces, like tanks and loose sweaters.
And since you're used to baggy things, you can try the "fashionable" versions like these:

They're still really comfortable, but don't look too sloppy. And remember to always pair one baggy thing with one slim thing. Like, loose top with skinny jeans, or a big skirt with a slim top.

good suggestions guys!
my favs are always a pretty, nice tank with some bermudas, shorts or a skirt.
a good place to start is at American Eagle or Forever 21. they always have really great stuff...most mix and match and cheap!
skirts are HUGE now, so buy some to go with everything. like one black, one white, and some pretty colors that you like. when in doubt pair anything with a basic tank. Victoria's Secret online has the 3 basic tanks for $10 each! i love to layer them...really nice colors too!
gladiator sandals are big too. old navy has some! check out old navy too...they have some really great stuff now and it's not too expensive! just go to a couple of stores and see what you like. try it on and make sure you feel comfortable. when in doubt, ask a sales person and they'll be able to pick out some stuff to go with what you like!

White skirts, shirts and sandals for summer.
I refuse to wear white below the waist.
I'm a plaid long shorts with utterly unmatching shirts type. Pretty much a fashion disaster.

shorts & tanks are a summer must! denim skirts are also useful, along with some sahdes. cute little dresses are also good for summer weather. whatever you're comfortable with and suites the weather is my advice. and since you don't like slip-flops i'd say get some comfy/cute flats.

Quick question - do you own a pair of heels?
You should at least own a pair of comfortable, yet stylish, heels. That way, you can turn any summer day outfit into an evening dinner/party outfit, especially if you're wearing a skirt or a nice blouse, tunic, or other cute top. Also, with sandals, the foamy ones (flip flops) belong at the BEACH, kthx. Get nicer ones, like gladiator ones or ones with cute straps (or just one strap) or something, to play up your outfit. It definitely makes the outfit look less boring and at the same time it doesn't look lazy. ;]

i love dresses, my gladiators, and shades.
i'd suggest getting a cute, flowy, white dress. and since you don't like your feet, some keds or rocketdogs. then you can add things like a cool belt and funky jewelry.

I'm not a massively knowledgeable person in the fashion department, but please, PLEASE don't wear capris. Loathesome things.
Lol, my summerwear is essentially the same as my winterwear, i.e. jeans and t-shirt.
