I have a quick question about affiliation. I hope this is the right place to post it; I saw that someone else posted a question here, so I figured it would be OK.
Awhile ago I tried signing up for the affiliation program. I think I did everything right. I uploaded the screenshot, filled out the info, put the verification code on my site and clicked, but when I log in here and check it still says my site (PhoenixTearz.com) is 'unverified'. I've done this process (clicking and trying to verify my site) several times. I did it first a few weeks ago, thinking maybe it would take some time, that maybe an admin had to verify it or something. But I logged in again today and still nothing. I just tried again, twice, and it doesn't seem to be working.
Can anyone help me with this? Has this problem ever happened before?

Alright, so the run down to verify your site:
- Fill out all the information on your site, with the site name, URL, brief description, and a screenshot of the site.
- From that page, you will be given the code that you will need to put on your index page, or whatever page you have the most people go to.
- After you have posted that link on your site, you will need to click your site's button to verify it.
Once you have done all of that, your site should be verified and you should be ranked. :)

Thanks for replying. I just tried, I did exactly what you said and my site still appears to be unverified. I filled in all the required forms, I added the CB button to my site (it's still there) and I clicked it. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong...it's not really that complicated a process. I don't know what the error can be attributed to, but I've tried this several times, as I said before, and nothing is working.
Could my browser's cache be contributing? Are there any known bugs in the affiliation verification process that I could somehow be hitting? The URL to my unverified CB affiliate page is:
http://www.createblog.com/affiliates/affiliate.php?id=36 - if that's of any help.

May 26 2008, 06:18 PM
^ I tried looking at the problem, but the only thing that I can think of, is you're using it on a page, that's not your home page, which is where most people have it.
Are you sure you clicked on the createblog button from your site? Because that's really the only way it can be verified.

How can I view my site's affliliation page on CB without having to look through the pages of afflilies to find it?
Also: On the pages for my layouts on CB, I have a link to my site. Is it ok if I change that link to "http://www.createblog.com/affiliates/in.php?id=66"?

http://sharpermyspace.createblog.com/affiliates/It's a cb4 page. I think Jusun is working on a new navigation bar, or a My Account link that will take you to that page. As of right now, the link is only available if you go to your affiliate, then click on your name in the details of owner box.

One of your top affiliates: embracee gives people viruses when they visit her site!

Her site stores malicious viruses into your temp. internet files every time you visit! check it out of you don't believe me.

Nothing happened when I visited the site from my own PC, I also checked with siteadvisor, they don't even have a report. I checked through their HTML it doesn't look like they have any malicious coding. But for the security of those without competent anti-virus software I have rejected the affiliate and sent a message to the owner.

I'm really sorry, but it's still not working. I thought maybe Wordpress was causing the problem; I put the button in my WP theme folder, in my footer page (where I have all my other affiliates listed). The footer displays on the homepage...but still, I thought maybe that was the reason, so I pasted the button code on my index.php page and clicked it from there, and still nothing. :( I really wish I knew what was going wrong.

They have to click createblog
from your site.
(ie. you send your 3 friends to your site, "http://josephcohen13.net" make believe that you have the createblog link already on the site. Giving them the link to your site will not increase nor decrease your hits in/out. However, if 2 of your friends decide to click the link to createblog at the wee bottom of your page, then you have 2 unique hits in). So, bottom-line, you have to have 1500 different people click the link or button to createblog from your site. However, I'm unsure if this is based on a daily, weekly, or monthly count. I'll keep my eyes on the numbers at the end of the day/week/month to see if they rollover or if they reset.

It can be whatever you want it to. As long as you link it to your "in" link for createblog affiliates. More people are probably willing to clicking it if it is an image though. Just saying.

Go to your affiliate page and look on the right side below the ad. Uniques in means the hits from the link on your site. The Uniques out is the hits that came from cb to your site.
Edit: You need 1500 uniques in to get it.
