Does anybody know anything about T1 or T3 internet connections? All I know is that it costs a helluva lot of money and it's usually reserved for college campuses and stuff. Or at least that's what I think I know about it. What services provice it? Tell me what you know about it.

Covad sells t1 @ 1.5mb/s service for $600 a month. I think they're the most popular t1 service.
http://www.psinet.com/products.html <- sells t3 service
edit: covad sells residential broadband too

Yah, mostly t1 and t3 are for big company's network or web server. For home use DSL or cable is fine.

if I had the money for the t1, i'd start a cyber cafe. a few years ago, there were kids who started their own ISP in ohio, they made $3 million in their first 2 years I think. I don't know if they're still in business now.

yeah, but you're the only one using your dsl line. at your college, possibly hundreds might be using the t1 line at the same time. and also, your college might be capping the t1.

We have too many it would suck to open on in my city. ehh to many lan centers you can go to i have like 4 or 5 near my house and 2 that i can walk to in about 10mins. but yeah i still rather play on my own computer and connect to they're servers.

T1 is for small time companys.. T3 is for big time skyscraper buildings..
T1 is not faster than Cable or DSL modem. T1 can handle alot of bandwidth and thats the use of its purpose.. T3 goes for the same but it handles more..
to put it in analogy.
T1 = A 2 Lane highway
T3 = A 4 Lane higway
Cable or DSL = A 2 way street.. with no traffic.. at 4 AM in the morning.. lol

Your DSL @ 4AM is wrong. DSL is consistant speed at all times it doesn't slow down as your neighbors logon and download pr0n.

yeah i see what you are saying =P
my cable is a biatch around my hood cuz all this rich mofos have cable modem around me.. and in cable you share bandwidth on a line.. it is basically sharing your internet with your neighbor but i think it is faster than dsl.. dsl maybe abit slower but it has constant speed
