It seems more and more celebrities and quasi-celebrities are getting their own fashion lines.

Ew? or Yay?

People I do like: Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B and Harajuku Lovers and Amanda Bynes' Dear. JLo's outer jackets are great too.

People I'm on the fence about:

1)Lauren Conrad's Collection. The dresses are plain, though not necessarily ugly, and run for about $100-$200 bucks. She accounts for the cost from the high quality of the fabric.

This is the $165 Lola dress (which I kinda like). 96% micro modal jersey 4% lycra. Jersey I know can run very expensive but such a simple dress that doesn't require much designing, it seems very overpriced.

2) Sarah Jessica Parker's Bitten line. While it's cheap, the fit and cut for a lot of the clothes are very odd and border poorly sewn. The clothes also lack innovation. Every time I go to Steve and Barry's, Bitten is kinda bland and looks the same.

3) Jessica Simpson's lineS. Princy is too young for me but does look cute. Her shoes look okay but veryyy pricey, like in Steve Madden range.

People I'm ready to completely dismiss:

1) Heidi Montag's Heidiwood line (sold at Anchor Blue) looks kinda cute but WHY IN THE WORLD DOES SHE GET A FASHION LINE? There are tons of great unknown designers out there who go to school for this and struggle to get their name out... and she puts out bad music and gets her own line? WTF?

2) Paris Hilton's line for Kitson... No. Just no.

Ones I want to check out: Mandy Moore's Mblem (cause I love her) even though I heard it's expensive and Beyonce's House of Dereon (since it looks promising).

here's a review for heidiwood and how shitty it is:

- MBlem is cute, but reminds me of C&C California. But going through her collection online just now, it was slightly awkward looking.
- Lauren Conrad's stuff can pretty much be found in f21, but with crap quality.
- JLo's stuff is completely NOT my style.
- Gwen Stefani seems to try to hard. Sometimes she succeeds, and at times it's complete fail. A lot of it seems reminiscent of other designers.
- Paris Hilton is a big fail.
- Jessica Simpson is a no.
- Ashlee Simpson for Wet Seal is a big f**king fail.
- Amanda Bynes' Dear is also another f21 replica.

The only "celeb" stuff I would ever consider buying would be Nicky Hilton for Samantha Thavasa bags. And in that, it would only be very few of them.

i think that it's good for them. Because they're broading their field. And i haven't seen any good clothes that i actually want to buy.

And why does it seems like females has more clothing lines then guys.
misoshiru
well, there's:
- justin timberlake with William Rast
- P. Diddy with Sean John
- Kanye is coming out with Perfectionism Places West
- Matthew McConaughey is apparently coming out with a beachwear line.
-

also..
avril is coming out with a clothing line. i wonder how different that will be from hot topic.

oh yeah, Posh's dVb line looks pretty hot. and so does Natalie Portman's shoe line made completely of vegan materials or whatever. sienna miller's twentyonetwelve isn't too bad, but again, it looks like copies of other designer pieces, as does Kate Moss' Topshop line.

EVERYONE has a fashion line nowadays. reality stars, like the people from Laguna Beach and that spin off of that show shouldn't have fashion lines..

I was thinking that but the color for Dear is much more vibrant than f21. I throb.gif f21 but their colors never go past neutrals and select primary colors. Dear is extremely cute and the colors are bright without being neon/bad.

I think Nicky Hilton's Nicolai (the more dressier version line than her Chick) looks promising from sketches I've seen but from runway pictures, she tries way to hard to portray a jetsetter/i'm a rich bitch fashion.

Eve's Fetish line doesn't look bad. The cuts seem to be very flattering for real bodies. And Justin Timberlake's William Rast's denim looks sooooo hot.
misoshiru
meh. I personally feel as if Dear is a cross between the colors of wet seal and the designs of f21.

My mother got all excited to try all these clothes on, and then she discovered that they're for women who have no hips.

Steve and Barry's collection is horrible.

The Bitten stuff I've seen is just jeans and t-shirts shrug.gif

- We don't have a Steve & Barry's here, so I haven't been able to see Sarah Jessica Parker or Amanda Bynes' lines, but I would like to.
- I would like Victoria Beckham jeans because of the back pockets.
- Lauren Conrad's line is so simple and unimaginative.
- Pete Wentz is designing Clandestine Industries for Nordstrom. Not quite my style, but rather cute.

- I find that Jessica Simpson's shoe line looks cute by itself, but when I actually try them on they fit funny.
- Chloe Sevigny is designing for Opening Ceremony, but I've never liked the overtly vintage look.

yeah, i dont think celebs should. i mean, it's not really their thing and they usually end up doing a crappy job. just cause you can sing halfway in tune doesnt mean you can design worth crap. designers do that. not celebs. and pete's nordstrom line is etrosious. or however you spell that. i need a dictionary :D but yeah, it's horrible. it looks.. cheap. but hey. i told you so.
RoyalSwagger
yea i bought my friend the audrina dress from the lauren conrad collection. and she said it was plain and i was like ohhh. and took it back lol.
Comptine
^ I would love to have a dress of Lauren Conrad's collection's quality. However, if you're already spending that much money on a yard of fabric, at least make the design a bit more interesting.
babecakes
kate moss for topshop > all.
BillyShakespeare
I personally am beginning to fall in love with Amanda Byne's line from Steve & Barrys.
I can't remember what it's called..
However, I'm in love with it.
The style is laid-back/funky.
And it reminds me of her completely.
vintage-toile
the kate moss topshop range is ludicrously overpriced for what it is.
a plain shirt with diamante (plastic?!) buttons is so so expensive.
just because it has her name on the label.
its a load of rubbish.
karmakiller
^ That's pretty much the case with every celeb's fashion line. It's more just because it has their name behind it.

A lot of the stuff you can find things that look like for $20, no $200.
