can a person be considered a child molester if he has a relationship with a minor? there is no sexual activity invoved, there's just a "boyfirend/girlfriend thing" can he still be acussed of being a molester?
kreios
I think he/she can be charged and registered as a sex offender, but not a child molester, unless you think the two are the same.

This isn't really debate though, shrug.gif You're just asking a question. (could be asked in Relationships, or the lounge -- since more people go there, then here)

Now, if you were asking if a person can have a relationship with a minor, I think the answer is yes, they can.

Only if you have any sort of sexual relations. But keep in mind... if the parents say no, they can charge you with statutory rape, which is bull but it happens even though they were innocent. Some states can consider a french kiss (kiss involving tongue) as sexual activity.

I go out with a 16 year old would i be considered a molester when i turn 18 in 3 months? oh noes. hehe.gif

Nope, I wouldn't call them a child molester. However, there are adults who have relationships with children that I don't think are okay. Let's take Michael Jackson's case for example, let's just say that he's telling the truth and did not molest a young child - he still admitted that he allowed a young child to sleep in his bed. There was no sexual contact or anything but he slept with a kid!? That creeps me out and I would say that although he didn't molest the child, there is something weird going on there and he should be prosecuted somehow so he knows that that type of behavior is socially unacceptable.

In Georgia there's a Romeo and Juliet clause to account for that. I'm betting most states having something similar, considering the ordeal that took place here (not to mention that Georgia's always behind, and it's simply logical to account for small age differences).

But if you sleep with a child you can also do other things..shrug.gif its like a red flag cause if i almost commited suicide.. i didnt really commit suicide but i almost did i could..so yeah. Michael Jackson is great music wise but as a person i dont know him so i dont know if he is _unsure.gif some people go after lil kids on purpose need serious help and i feel bad for the kids they victimize.. sad.gif

Yeah but you can't blame Mike... he's a lil out there, his youth was pretty f**ked up and not well experienced.

Errr are you responding to what I said to you? Because that's not at all what I'm talking about. The Romeo and Juliet clause would allow for reasonable rulings in court involving things like a 17 year old and a 15 year old. The 15 year old's not technically of age, but if it's consensual, 17's not a big difference. I don't know the details, and don't really feel that this is a serious enough debate to merit a google, but I'm willing to be it'd account for a 16 year old and an 18 year old as well, because proportionately, these are not big differences, and that's more important than limits set in stone.

Nevermind, I see the Michael Jackson post now.

Some people who had bad childhood come out wrong and its not their fault but some dont. I still love Michael Jackson and i dont know what happen to him but if he did sleep with lil kids and do stuff
its not really his fault and he needs help _unsure.gif but some people dont turn out wrong after getting molested.. I had some bad years in my younger years i got molested and "semi" raped but i turned out fine. Its hard for Michael cause hes like all famous and shit..makes him probably look crazy. mellow.gif

Here, theres like a four year rule. If they're four years younger than you, its illegal to have a relationship. Something like that.

Yeah, that's a great reason for molesting any child. thumbsup.gif

i was at the rodeo carnival and i saw this like 30 something year old man making out with this girl who was i think 12 or 13. i was like OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH SHIIITT. thats wrong. like he should go to jail. but i think people should be allowed to be like only 3 years apart if theyre like 25 or younger.
