But to answer your question, I do believe it's necessary just because of, um, bandwidth issues? Something like that. Just recently, they decided to get rid of it for official members and staff members. So, yeah. Try harder.

the reason why we have flood control is to prevent spammers from spamming the site before anyone catches it. without it, someone can make a script to automate the commenting and achieve ~1000 comments per second. imagine trying to clean up through that. =)

oh, but I think someone said earlier in this topic, that it's a perk removed for OMs. Isn't that just for the search flood. I don't think we can comment more than 4 times in 10 seconds, if we go over 4 we have to wait 15 seconds still. :\
