Bulletin from D.A.R.E Officers
DON'T FLASH HEADLIGHTS AT ANY CAR WITH NO LIGHTS ON!
Police officers working with the DARE program have issued this Warning:
If you are driving after dark and see an on-coming car with no headlights on, DO NOT FLASH YOUR LIGHTS AT THEM! This is a common 'Bloods' member 'initiation game' that goes like this: The new gang member under initiation drives along with no headlights, and the first car to&n bsp;flash their headlights at him is now his 't arget.' He is now required to turn around and chase and spot that car, then shoot and kill every individual in the vehicle in order to complete his initiation requirements. Police Departments across the nation are being warned.
Their intent is to have all the new bloods nationwide drive around on Friday and Saturday nights with their headlights off.
In order to be accepted into the gang, they have to shoot and kill all individuals in the first auto that does a courtesy flash to warn them that their headlights are off.
Make sure you share this information with all the drivers in your family!
Please forward this message to all your friends and family members to inform them about this initiation ritual. They are also known to drive with high beams on and will do the same as indicated above.

I got that from my mother years ago, it's scary to see that ): ):
Cause I do it without thinking about this.
Then I thought its all mumbo jumbo because to my knowledge there aren't any gangs here...

Am I the only one who found humor in this?
The only people that I flash my lights at are people who are in front of me going 25 on the interstate.

I knew that for a while now; I see some people who still flash their lights sometimes to signal people to turn their lights on & they're pretty lucky they're flashing the right people because nothing bad happened. I also heard about people who will follow you really close & rear end you to try to get you to stop & get out of the car; I heard that was gang related too, but my thing is never stop until you're in a well lit area such as a known gas station or shopping area and it goes for police officers too because you can never be too careful nowadays. People are sick.

This has been talked about for yearssss. It's pretty much an urban legend.
People who STUDY gangs say that this practice has not been really documented and probably destructive to gang life (since it causes such a big scene).
