i apologize, but it looks like we're going to make the vip forum a subforum, because it'll just be too many forums. i also disbanded the rec forum catagory to save forum real estate space.

And the bolding for subforums makes the font look weird, imo. But that's okay though, since bolding makes it more noticeable.

If we're going to make the VIP Lounge a subforum of the Lounge, can we at least link it to the front list like all the other subforums?

i dont think thats possible because then the link would be visible to all members, not just official members. there's no way to hide it from regular members.

Because the forum description is for the Lounge, which is visible to all members.

Well, they wouldn't be able to gain access, so it'd just be a broken link. Wouldn't that be ok?

Then we'd get a bunch of posts in feedback pointing out this broken link. Cmon you know how newbs are.

Yeah, there's no way to make part of a description for a public forum visible to only a certain group of members. The thing is, the forum is only visible to Official Members, so it would be confusing to have a link which doesn't go to anything (or would probably give a permissions error now that I think of it) showing for half the members. It's feasible, of course, but many people already visit the Lounge on a daily basis anyway, so I figure that in itself makes it easier to check up on the VIP Lounge (if that makes sense, forgive me for rambling).

i added vip lounge link to the forum index. if we get complaints about broken links, im afraid ill have to remove it.
