images may take a while to load-----------------------------------------------------------------
I decided to edit this image:
^ That is the image from my computer. It comes as a sample picture for desktop wallpaper and such.
I then gave it a green tint:
Then I colorized the lights with some purple and pink to make it more magical:
And lastly, I decided that the lights looked a little too colored, so I gave them back their yellowish-white color:
critique?

It's spelled "Eiffel."

I like the pinkish-peach shade of the fountain water, although the purple is also nice.

emberfly is asking for comments and critique on his work, not for what you think of the actual Eiffel Tower. Stop bashing.

I like it. But don't you have to like pay a fee for using pictures of the Eiffel tower at night?
emberfly
Mar 23 2008, 06:34 PM
I don't think so. Since I'm using a picture of the Eiffel Tower that was already paid for, it should be ok?
EDIT//
and I never said anything about submitting them.

to be honest it just looks like youve changed the colours a bit.
and changing a photo which you've not taken/gotten permission to use then showing everyone it isnt that great.
its okay..but still.
needs a bit more to it. its nice and simple.
just not anything immensely special. i've seen quite a few of these.

^ the reason it looks that way is because that IS all I did. And no one said they were great, I'm just showing them.
EDIT//
I think it would be stupid to get "permission." these photos are DEFAULT PHOTOS that everyone in the world can get access to if they have a computer. I think it's safe to say they're "free" ?

sorry i guess that was quite harsh.
it was genuinely my opinion and they could be worked on.

SNTE is the company that maintains the Eiffel Tower. I really don't think they care if some guy on cB uses it.
QUOTE(David-Michel Davies @ Feb 22 2005, 05:46 PM)
When I spoke to the Director of Documentation for SNTE, Stéphane Dieu, via phone last week, he assured me that SNTE wasn't interested in prohibiting the publication of amateur photography on personal Web sites. "It is really just a way to manage commercial use of the image, so that it isn't used in ways we don't approve," said Mr. Dieu.
http://blog.fastcompany.com/archives/2005/...epossessed.htmlAnd since you're not using the images for commercial purposes, it doesn't really matter.

I like the green tinted one. It seems like it had the most change and looks clearer, imo.

yeahh, so you just changed the color. i think it would've looked cool if you had layered the colors so that maybe the water could've been purple-ish and the tower be a bit more yellow-y. 'cause honestly, it seems like something that could be done within seconds and that anyone could do it. anyway, i really like the purple one for some reason cuz it seems magical lol. the last one is pretty nice too.

Im just going to critique and not get into the entire law paying for pictures at night thing, I think that the purple light one was the best because it makes it feel more magical but anyway good job:]
