What the hell... what does it matter... soldier is a person enlisted into the military. A militant.. it doesn't matter if they're a Marine or not... they're still a soldier.

The one time my friend and I called my ex's dad a soldier, he only had to remind us once: Marines and Sailors are not Soldiers. Soldiers come from the Army. Ever call a Marine a soldier, you might as well sign the death certificate yourself.

Wait... soldier is just when someone is dressed out in military fatigues. That's when they're in combat mode. Either way they're a soldier. You should address them 'Marine, Sailor etc.. when they're dressed into their proper uniform.

Negative. It doesn't work like that. You're distinguished based on the branch in which you serve. In a Marine Corps utility uniform, I'm still a Marine. If a Sailor, who is a Corpsman (Navy medical, works with Marines), is in combat utilities, he's still a Sailor.

Soldiers train up at White Beach and Torii Station here on Okinawa. They also have a Communications brigade somewhere in the boonies. There aren't many of them.

But would it be safe to say that there are soldiers in Japan (which I think is considered overseas? correct me if I'm wrong)?
