Anyone else getting really cheesed off with Xanga recently? I can't believe all the alterations the site's been through in just the two years I've been blogging. In some ways, it's moving with the times - in other ways, it's just trying too hard. Whatchoo all think?

Yeah, I wish Xanga would go back to how it was in 2005 or 2006. The "online now" icon is just silly, as is the placement of the new ads, which must be hard for layout designers to work around. I can live with Xanga themes, but everything else needs to revert back. :|

i agree. all the new settings and alterations got me really confused. although i eventually became accustomed to it, i prefer the older version. like, i don't use the new private homepage thing, i use the old homepage where you get to preview your layout.
i remember xanga back in like 2003. DANG.

I definitely prefer the older versions of xanga. This new one is too much, it's too busy to me. I like it to be more simple and clean, as it was before. I really don't like the private home.

Mmmm, yeah - "busy" is the perfect word for it.

Yeah, same here. Sometimes I use the Xanga Dash, but not the universal inbox thing.

Yeah, maybe something is wrong with your reolustion. The new private homepage looks fine for me.

There's really no point to them. The credits idea isn't that bad, though...if it motivates people to comment more so that they can get free Premium. But I probably won't reach 100,000 anytime soon. Eh.
Xanga is only coming up with all this crap because it's [been] losing people to Facebook. T_T

I despise the new Xanga.
Everyone's just frikin trying to clone each other and no one site is now 'cool' anymore. Xanga is all about blogging. They should just f*cking stick to blogging and nothing else. I'd egg their headquarters if I could. Well, at least I don't use it anymore. And I hate how they keep sending me "___, WE MISS YOU!" emails. Ahhnoying.

it's like xanga is trying to become the new myspace/facebook/livejournal/ETC all in one. i went to post a new weblog entry a few weeks ago, and i was actually stumped for a while, trying to figure out how to PERFORM SUCH A SIMPLE ACTION. and that's all because of the clutter they have going on in the private home page or whatever you call it.
;__; i want the old xanga back WHINEWANKWHINE.

i agree! it's so complicated now.
sighh, myspace has changed a lot too.
trying to copy facebook in some ways, like the updates, status, and mood things =/ the originality is what i like mainly but if everyone just starts copying off each other, what makes them so special anymore?

Jess, you can change it back to the good ole Xanga. Or use the
Xanga Dash; I'm actually pretty fond of that.
