Actually, its a story about mine. My crush, who likes me back, asked me to be his girlfriend on Leap Day. He's really shy and so he talks more online than in person. That's even how he asked me. In a sense, I'm happy but I also have mixed feelings about that... Is it really a relationship if he can't talk to me (due to embarrassment) in real life as much as online? I also have another problem. I'm really really close friends with this other guy S. He's my closest guy friend and he's the person I'm most comfortable with. We're irreplaceable to each other. But our feelings are not romantic. Yet I felt guilty when I told him that J and I got together, and he was confused and saddend at my controversial actions (I don't believe that high school relationships are the ones that go on forever... but I think it's a life experience. Yet, I just got with a guy.)... to the point of crying...
What's the meaning of all this and what should I do?

He could have possibly become sad because he thought you guys wouldn't hang out as much as you guys used to because of your crush. Just ask your best friend about it. And about your crush, I had a crush like once too, we talked a ton online/phone but never in person. Just try to talk to him more in person. Respect his shyness. He'll eventually know that you're comfortable with him and he'll open more up to you. :D. Don't assume things before you ask. It'll help you out a ton. Just ask your friend about it. There's also a possibility that your friend has more than friend feelings about you. I hope everything works out with you.

I'm still in my first relationship, two years on. I was a late starter to the world of dating because of my cynicism of highschool romances.
Being best friends with a guy and either one of you having absolutely no romantic attachment to the other is, I think, very hard to maintain. By dating this other guy, it's understandable that S, after so much time spent together, would feel as though he were coming in second place.

I'm still in my first real relationship. We met my sophomore year in high school. he is amazing we've now been together three years & six months. its amazing.

When i first saw him i said to myself, if you don't get with him you're going to regret it, oh Jesus i melted we kind of BROKE NECK looking at each other it was just one of those moments that literally take your breath away.

We started dating one week after meeting and weve been together since. Inseparable. I love it.

You should really give him time and maybe he'll come around but if he doesn't then i think you should talk to him about it and if things dont cahnge after you talk then maybe its just not the best relationship for you right now.

My friend S and I are really close, to the point where when I was sick, he came to my house 5 evenings in a row even though he lives halfway across our city from me (i live on the edge of it). I don't know... I think he's very boyfriend-like in a sense, BUT our feelings are platonic... and my now boyfriend gets a bit jealous... envious? when I talk about S to J... which is understandable because no guy likes a girl telling them about her best guy friend right?

Your relationship might not be at its best right now, but if you're patient and give him time to open up when you're hanging out, he should become less shy. He'll appreciate you for letting him adjust. As for J getting jealous when you talk about S, think about how you'd feel if J always mentioned one of his girl friends all the time. You'd think that maybe J liked the other girl more, or that something was going on between them. Even though it's hard because you and S are so close, try not to talk about him to J.

Perhaps your friend S feels that he's losing you to your boyfriend. Being replaced does kind of suck--especially since you two are very close to the point of it being like it's something more. He may have feelings for you other than platonic ones.
As for your relationship--maybe it's not the right thing right now? Because I got together with my first boyfriend at a really bad time, and like you, I had mixed feelings--we lasted for one month.
And no, don't talk about J with S--how would you like it if S talked about his gf with you?

your best friend is like the type of friend who you'll end up marrying if either of you don't marry anyone else in the future =P.
but it's all a learning experience.

My relationship actually started off online more as well. Like, we'd see each other, give a smile ad a hug and then online, we'd talk til no tomorrow. I think we eventually learn to build and become more comfortable with each other. I've been with him for 2 years now as of 2 days ago. :D

Pretty happy, fell in love. Then I found out she loved someone else. Then I wrecked holy hell on that guy.
