regular screen capture programs or just using the F12 button can't take screen shots of videos or movies since those images are overlayed onto your desktop. you need a video/movie player with a built-in screen capture feature such as Cyberlink PowerDVD.

"In Windows Media Player go to Options > Performance > Video Acceleration -- None... and then the Print-Screen button should work.
The graphics card overlays the video onto the screen separately from the other system program stuff. That's why print screen doesn't work, because it doesn't take a snapshot of the overlay when video acceleration is on."

sometimes, if you put video acceleration to none, u could end up with some problems (i.e: you can't full screen, fast forward, etc)..so i just lower video acceleration from "full" to "some"...it keeps everything intact AND gives you the ability to take screenshots....or at least, thats how my computer works.
