what album did you most recently get? was it better or worse than expected?
Secondhand Serenade- A Twist In My Story. 400% better than i thought it would be...John's voice mixed with an orchestra...

I picked up The Mars Volta's 'The Bedlam in Goliath' and I dunno... it's a little to Led Zepplin for me (but I guess I should have known that from previous albums). Perhaps it still has some growing on me to do.

I'm kind of out of the loop music wise. The last CD I bought was The New Pornographer's The Challengers.
Every other CD I've listened to since then I've been freeloading off of friends.

The last album I bought was the new Chariot. It is hella good, but that was awhile back.
Recently I went to a CD release show for Secret Lives of the Freemasons, one of my favorite bands. I was really impressed with their new stuff, and picked up a sampler (didn't have any money). When I got home and listened to the sampler, I was like WTF?!
The vocals didn't sound like Brien at all. I was really disappointed. Because the show had been so good, and I thought their new album was going to be awesome. There are only two songs on the sampler (by them, the other band is The Audition or something), so I may end up getting their CD to listen to the rest. Hopefully the other songs actually sound like them.
