Aw, he's cute.
ANDZOMFGIBOUGHTMYCOPY.
I am helping my friend do her wedding invitations so I can't start reading it today. Or, at least, not until later. After the football game. There will be no silence in my house while there is a football game going.
BUTAHHHHH! He's so cute.

Ugh, I spent all day helping my friend with her wedding invites. I haven't even cracked it open yet. Bleh.

Same here. I just started to read it now, but I still have mountains of math homework to get to.
I CAN NEVER JUST ENJOY A BOOK. I SWEARIt's interesting so far.

Sep 21 2008, 08:12 PM
I read the first section about Eragon before it got to Nasuadadadabablahablah. ITS SO GOOD ZOMG.
I stayed up till 2:30 reading. And I had to wake up at 6 today. This book will be the death of me.
absinthe
Sep 21 2008, 10:23 PM
wait, the Nasuada part? at the beginning? /lost
the synopsis at the beginning saved my life. i'm glad he put it there. i would have been completely lost without a brief re cap.
technicolour
Sep 21 2008, 10:44 PM
LOL
He writes the books in sections. First section is about Eragon/Roran and then there is a Nasuada section about what's going on with the Varden. Soon he'll bounce back to either Arya or Eragon.
The recap was a good idea.
absinthe
Sep 21 2008, 11:15 PM
do you like how he does that?
technicolour
Sep 22 2008, 01:01 AM
NO. He always switch's POV right as something really good is going to happen. Freaking pisses me off. Sometimes I just want to skip it but then I know that i'll miss something. ARGH.
This book is going to take me forever to read because all this week i'm working. Argggghhhh.
absinthe
Sep 22 2008, 01:07 AM
hahaha, i hate when books do that. f**k. i liked how it was just one pov. it worked in the first two books. well, wait. wasn't there a chapter somewhere with saphira's pov? /can't remember.
and i know! i`m not going to have too much time to read it, either. but i`ll try and sneak it in somehow.
technicolour
Sep 22 2008, 05:32 PM
LOL me sneaking in reading time is staying up until 230 when I have to wake up at 7. It's baaddd.
The first book was completely Eragon's POV. Then, in the second one, he kept switching from Eragon, Roran, AND freaking Nasuablahddada. It was incredibly frustrating. Rawr.
absinthe
Sep 22 2008, 05:38 PM
wow, holy shit. why don't i remember that? ugh. got a few pages down today. did you? i`m at the part where
eragon is scrying to the elves with Sloan. i say just kill him.
lol. but don't tell me if he does!!!!111!!

oh and
i was like AWWWWWWWWWW at the part where Eragon told Roran that Arya rejected him. xD
technicolour
Sep 22 2008, 06:59 PM
UGH I SAY THE SAME THING. Sometimes doing the right thing constitutes reading more pages of them trying to figure out if its the right thing and it's way annoying.

And I DID THE SAME THING! (AWWWWWW)
I'm a bit further than you, so, i'll keep my lips sealed.
absinthe
Sep 22 2008, 11:30 PM
hahaha. i hate how now when i read the book, i visualize
him
as Eragon. I mean, it's not bad, i guess. I'd just rather have the characters I visualize instead of real life actors.
technicolour
Sep 22 2008, 11:33 PM
MMMMM
But he's a mighty FWWWINNNEEE visualization, IMO. I picture the guy for Roran too. But for Arya, for some reason, I picture Liv Tyler from the LoTR movies. Just because the description fits with her perfectly.
I always envision everything playing out in my head. That's one of the things that I love about these books is that he describes things in detail which allows you to paint that vivid picture in your head.
absinthe
Sep 22 2008, 11:38 PM

True.

I totally get the Liv Tyler connection, too. // I was thinking about that when I was reading. Everything is so perfectly detailed! No wonder why the movie was completely..........
technicolour
Sep 22 2008, 11:49 PM
The freaking book was a script and did a hell of a lot of the work for them. Those people just don't know how to do adaptations.
Man, if Peter Jackson had gotten his hands on this baby, all of these would be best-selling-record-makin' movies.
And a younger Liv Tyler = Arya. Fo' Sho'.
absinthe
Sep 23 2008, 12:16 AM
Oh man. I could totally imagine P. Jackson working his magic. I bet that would be cool for Paolini, seeing as how he got some of his influence from Tolkien.

Oct 1 2008, 09:54 PM

I laughed out loud literally. haha.
ok, so i`m ALMOST done.
and
BROM IS HIS FATHER!!although it was kind of predictable, but still. i love it.

oh and if i were Oromis and Glaedr
I don't know if I would have given Eragon Glaedr's heart of hearts. I was surprised. I didn't think he wouuld give it to him.oh and after those 324565342 chapters spent on
forging Brisingr Eragon better kick some Galbatorix ass.
technicolour
Oct 1 2008, 10:55 PM
YEAAAHH, I know it was a smidge predictable but at least it isn't Galbatorix! Seriously.
And I agree with the heart of hearts thing. Apparently there is a lot of trust going on there, man. As long as Eragon uses it only for knowledge and not power, then, *shrug*
AND YOURE DAMN RIGHT. GALBATORIX BETTER GET PWNED.
AND....ARYA AND ERAGON BETTER MAKE TONS OF ELF/HUMAN HYBRID-esque BABIES IN THE NEXT BOOK!
It was easier just to write everything in spoiler tags. :D
absinthe
Oct 2 2008, 12:23 AM
LOL. ok, so i just finished it.
1.dude, although it was obvious, why'd oromis and glaedr have to die?
2.when arya and eragon were hugging after killing the shade, i was like JUST HAVE SEX RIGHT THERE!3.i was wondering
does galbatorix have brom's dargon's heart of hearts? but seriously,
paolini needs to spice up arya and eragon's relationship.
um, i think paolini should keep writing about the series until he dies. or atleast a 5th book to end it. not a fourth.
technicolour
Oct 2 2008, 01:12 AM
1. IKNOWRIGHT?! I was super sad. :(
2. YESSSS! WHY DIDNT THEY?!
3. Probably. But...do we know exactly how Brom's dragon died? I don't think it was mentioned in the books...or was it and i'm just dumb?
And yes. Paolini should write until his hands detach themselves from his body. Then he can just speak and have someone else do the actual writing. I love this series SO MUCH, ZOMFG.
Now we'll have to wait another year for book 4. MAN. Make another movie in there or something people.
absinthe
Oct 2 2008, 05:30 PM

mmmm, i think you`re right about brom's dragon. i`m not sure either.

QUOTE
Also, for those who understood the reference to a "lonely god" when Eragon and Arya are sitting around the campfire, my only excuse is that the Doctor can travel everywhere, even alternate realities.
Hey, I'm a fan too!
I don't understand this reference that Paolini mentions.
//
So I was in my history class today and my teacher blabs on about Austria-Hungary and whatever. And then she mentioned this.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Handand i was like, wait, wtf. i didn't know paolini based that on real life. /slow

you should have seen me in class. i wanted to interrupt my teacher and talk about eragon's mom.
technicolour
Oct 2 2008, 05:34 PM
Yeaaaah, I don't think we know how Brom's dragon died.
And it's from Doctor Who! I'm a Sci-Fi junkie. I vaguely got it.
And wait, did Paolini base Selena off of that? And dude. I totally would have interrupted class. *nods*
absinthe
Oct 2 2008, 05:38 PM

Oh. I still don't get it.

I'm pretty sure he did. It's not necessarily exact, but I'm almost positive that was where he got the idea.
I've been thinking. I wonder what color this last book is going to be.
technicolour
Oct 2 2008, 05:39 PM
GREEEEENNNN! THEY SHOULD MAKE IT GREEEEN!
Emerald Green!
Because when I think Green I think Elf. =/
absinthe
Oct 2 2008, 06:15 PM

i totally forgot about green. i was like "would he want it
purple?"

then i thought white.
well, i pretty much thought of every color
except green.
i think that since saphira is the last female dragon [or so they've said] that it would be awesome if her and glaedr had dragon babies. or something.well, that would be kind of weird. like as far as age difference. but then, it would be kind of like eragon and arya.

SO YES. IT SHOULD HAPPEN.
technicolour
Oct 2 2008, 06:17 PM
THEY SHOULD HAVE HAD MANY AND MANY BABIES. MANY. For the sake of their race! I mean come on! That is the MOST VALID reason to reproduce I have EVER HEARD.
And huh about the green and purple?
absinthe
Oct 2 2008, 06:50 PM
haha. i was saying that green was just the color i completely forgot to think of.
that's basically it. lol.
i kind of want to re-read eragon. i can't wait so long for the next book.
technicolour
Oct 2 2008, 06:51 PM
Purple would be good color. Purple is the color of royalty. Maybe he'll go ROYAL IN THE NEXT BOOK! :D:D:D:D:D:D
Royal with elf babies, that is.
Dude. I wanna reread the whole series again. I have the paperbacks of the first two so I can stash them in my purse and read whenever I can.
absinthe
Oct 2 2008, 07:02 PM

i think it's going to be green though. the cover for the third book was supposed to feature a green dragon, but it changed. who knows.

Unresolved Plot Elements In 'Brisingr'
Below is a brief list of some plot details that were announced to be in Book 3 Of the Inheritance Trilogy, (now Inheritance Cycle) but as it was split into two books, appear to not have been included in Brisingr. Paolini has mentioned the following information in various interviews:
In the third (now fourth) book, the Varden's attitude towards Nasuada's position as leader of the Varden might change.
In the third (now fourth) book it will be revealed if Saphira ever finds a mate.
More of Ajihad's background (other than the nomadic tribes) may be revealed.
Eragon has yet to find the Rock of Kuthian or the Vault of Souls and speak his name, as instructed by the werecat Solembum.
Eragon may leave Alagaesia forever from Angela's prediction.
The werecats will be expanded upon.
The words of power Brom told Eragon before he died and what they meant will be revealed.
HAHA. Saphira. She better find a mate!
It doesn't talk about Eragon and Arya though.

Why would Eragon leave? HE MUST STAY.
You know, if Eragon doesn't die in book four or something, I'm going to be more depressed seeing as how paolini is able to continue to write about him if he's alive, but won't.
technicolour
Oct 2 2008, 07:06 PM
OMG WHY WOULD HE LEAVE? There isn't a good enough reason for him to leave!
Saphira will find a mate. Fo' sho'. As will Eragon, dammit.
And yes! He can totally further the storyline. Once Galbatorix is pwned, then he can pick a worthy ruler, and in time maybe someone will try and throw things off scale again. Or they find the One Ring to rule them all. Oh wait, already happened.
absinthe
Oct 2 2008, 07:45 PM
haha, lord of the rings!
i didn't know paolini has a sister named Angela too. how weird. lol
look!

SAPHIRA'S HUSBAND?!?!?!
no, i dont know. but that's definitely a new dragon! yay.
technicolour
Oct 2 2008, 09:27 PM
OMG YESSSSS! I like that booook cover!
Wait. Isn't that the same dragon picture from 'Eragon'?

YEAH! JUST FLIPPED!
Gah. Probably this time next year we will be seeing book 4. Hopefully. *crosses fingers*
