I haven't seen Little Miss Sunshine and I'm not a Dakota fan, so I didn't really notice the "replacement" of one by the other. I have noticed that Dakota hasn't been in many movies lately, though.

Daveigh Chase is better than both those girls. At least in my opinion she is. I also think that the girl that was in Silent Hill (Jodelle Ferland) is incredible.

dakota fanning has proven that she is a good actress in big, serious roles like in 'i am sam' and 'war of the worlds' as well as cuter roles like 'dreamer'

abigail breslin was great in 'little miss sunshine' and really fit the part, but she tends to have these mostly 'cute' roles...im still waiting for her to have a breakthrough performance like dakota fanning

She's done a ton of voice overs (Chihiro in Spirited Away, Lilo in Lilo and Stitch, etc) and was the creepy kid in The Ring.
