I want to have an animation that paints in a image with brush strokes. Like you are clearing the fog from a mirror, type of technique. I've seen it done with squares, but I have no idea where to start. Cab anyone help me with this?

Thank you.

Hmmm... I'm not sure, but I'll move this to Graphics Help so that if gets more attention.

I don't think there are many flash users here at createblog, Josh is learning flash though I'll see if he can help you in any way..

The only thing I could suggest to steer you in the right direction is to search by google for tutorials or go to a book store and find a flash book and read some of it. Its going to run you around 20-40$ but its worth it if you find a good book.

you need to do this in frames, adding another brushstroke with every frame. also, figure out how to use masks.

Expanding on the frames concept you could have one brush stroke in consecutive frames and each stroke covers a different part of the picture; also i'd have each stroke in it's own movieclip to faciliate the masking and the animation. Im thinking i'd use a tween to uncover the stroke progressivly to achieve the final effect. I don't know just some ideas to put on the table, im not a flash guru but I know a few things so maybe that helps.
