Honestly girls, would you date a guy who has no money? Don't give me that bullshit about money doesn't matter and it's all about if he cares about you or not. I'm not saying that isn't important, but money is also important too. Would you go out with some dude who has no job, and no money or car to take you places, or treat you out to dinner, or get you nice gifts? Be honest.

My bf fits that category. But its not like a permanent situation. Its only cuz hes concentrating on school in the meantime
He too asks me that question of why I'm with him from time to time but really its no biggie. I've always been self reliant & don't really like being helped because I feel much better about earning things.

I really don`t know.
I mean if i really cared about him, it wouldn`t matter.
I mean I`d prefer if he HAD money, but whatever.
As long as he`s hot.

That`s shallow, i know.

Honestly, no. I mean he can be a little bit poor, but not majorly. I don't want to have to struggle that hard to get money.

If a guy had no job, no money, no car would mean that he has no priorities or a sense of responsibility; therefore, I could and would never possibly date such a guy. Is he going to be mommy's little boy until he's 70? No.

I have money as evidenced by my expensive lifestyle, but I will admit I don't have a whip. Hell I don't even have a license, but I do have a driver so that does count for something right?

honestly, i'm fine with dating someone who doesn't make as much money as i do but i couldn't date someone who sat on their ass all day while i worked. i'm not asking for a ballin' rich boyfriend but someone that can atleast pay some bills and has some self-responsibility :).

nope i would never date a broke guy, it would just show how lazy and unintelligent he is. my mom says the financial status is one of the most important things in a relationship. look at it this way, if the guy was in loads of debt and in a financial crisis he would definitely be majorly stressed and grumpy even to his partner which would affect the relationsip alot cuz there's no hot hot hot passionate love or that sweet carefree moment where they're cuddling and whatever. and many many other examples.

It depends on the situation.
I really don't think it's that hard to get a job and if he can't, then something other than having-no-money is wrong with him, i.e. he probably doesn't have any motivation in life and thinks bumming around is good enough - which I don't agree with.
But, say he was in college and trying to make it on his own... there has to be some point in time where he's going to be really conservative with what he's got and that's fine with me.
I don't need a guy with money, but if the fact that he has no money potentially reveals something faulty about him as a person, then yes, I have a problem with that.

I'm fine with having a middle classed boyfriend. He doesn't need to be extremely rich, but as well can't be extremely poor. He has to have enough money to support himself, pay bills and etcetera. He could have a bit of self-responsibility. :)

Honestly? No.
As straightfoward as that sounds, it's true. And besides it would be hard to go out with someone who was in debt and had no money. It would be sad if you had to pay for every single darn thing. And if they were nice, they wouldn't use you to that paying advantage.

That's asking 'would you date someone with no aspirations and no life outside of his parents' basement?' The answer would probably be a very firm 'no!'.
My boyfriend has to save for expenses at university and I appreciate that. I also appreciate the occasional treat. Boyfriend complies, S. Majere happy.

I am the same way. Do I like living in my moms house, not completely. I do realize though that I have to stay here to put things into motion for the future. If I could go to a university out of state I would, but unfortunately, when you are applying for fire departments, you have to stay in the city. I still have responsibilities even though I live at home as my mom does not pay for anything for me. She offers to, but I always refuse.

Anywho, the girls that I know obviously like driven guys, but it is not all about money with them. They are all independent, so I know that they don't need a dude to carry them and what not. Do I believe that some girls are only in it for the money? Of course I do, but that is where you shut them down very quickly. That has happened to me a few times, and I have learned how to spot girls like that very quickly. I will admit though, I am the type that will spoil a girl to no end.

i will gladly pay part of my dude's expenses, but i'm trying to keep myself up at the same time too. it's not about getting treated out or whatever, i don't expect that - mister and i live on the poor side of town. surviving is what matters.

What would you guys consider to be the cut-off line in terms of yearly income?
The average wage in the US is somewhere around 40k to 50k per year. I'd say 150k+ would be considered "wealthy". Then there's people who make millions and billions such as celebrities, etc. You know the cast of Friends made average 1 million per show? 10 season, how many shows a season? They made at least 40-50 million EACH, and that's just from friends, disregarding any movies they may have done in that time.
They make money seem like nothing, where graduates from Harvard and are surgeons make 500k a year (they work extremely hard!), actors and actresses get millions per year for pretending to be someone they're not?
