My question to all you girls is: Do you ever feel pretty/beautiful?

Some days, especially if I get dolled up to go out, I feel beautiful but there are other days where I feel like I should wear a brown paper bag over my face.

AND

Whenever I feel insecure, I think I look weird or awkward, but when I feel confident, I think DAYUM I'm hot.
not to sound arrogant or anything...

So what about you? Be honest!

I don't scrutinize myself really.
There are days when I feel fat and overweight, but I don't complain about it; the feeling passes pretty quickly.

Society focuses way too much of their attention on appearance. Beauty is only skin deep.

honestly? i think i am okay. i will not be like every other girl and say "NO WAY! I AM SO FLIPPIN UGLY!" because a majority of girls do have much lower self esteem. I guess I'm not like that. Hm. But I know i do look better now than maybe a couple years back.

From a guy's perspective:

If you're comfortable in your own skin, confident in who you are and in your own abilities, aware of your faults, and you take pride in all of this; you are beautiful.

Ladies, get with the program.

Somedays, when I put in the effort (hair, make-up, specially selected outfit), I feel pretty and confident. Confidence = attractive-ness for me *shrug* Otherwise, I just feel plain, and it doesn't bother me. ^_^

i don't feel insecure about how i look very often.
if my hair, face, and body are in good condition, i don't have anything to worry about.

it may sound shallow, but i feel pretty when I'm dressed cute.
if I'm wearing something i don't feel comfortable or confident it, my self esteem goes down.

Pretty much like what you said. It all depends.

I used to have an I-am-ugly complex, but I think I grew out of it. I know I have my good features and my not-so-good features, but I've learned to just accept myself and my appearance. It's a waste of time to dwell on things like that when you can just be having fun and not being self-conscious.

The things I find pretty on myself are little things. I love the shape of my eyes and my lips are great. I love my big chipmunk cheeks, they are so cute when I smile.

But, I think the opposite sex doesn't notice those things. I mean, John does, but before him the most compliments I got were on my ass.

every now and then, in certain light with certain makeup and hairdo and colors on, there's a brief few seconds where i feel like the most attractive person ever.

but other than that, i rarely feel normal, let alone pretty.
i honestly think i used to be pretty...then i chopped up my hair and it went downhill from there. one length definitely worked for me.

It wish that girls wouldn't base the idea of being "pretty" on how much attention they get from guys. Self confidence is sort of rare these days.

Very true. The attention is nice but I certainly don't rely on the opinions of others for a self-esteem boost. I believe that if you want to feel better about yourself, the love/attention has to come from you and not from someone else.

I only really feel pretty on special occasions like homecoming when my hair is all done and i'm all dressed up.

I don't think I'm the most hideous creature out there though. I think I'm alright. No point to dwell on it though, this is what I got and crying over it won't change that.

i think ages 11-13 are and "ugly" phase for most girls. its the awkward time where you don't look cute in pig tails anymore, but you don't have "body" and you dont wear makeup.

I think girls are annoying in general when a few guys come up to talk to them, or "hit on them" in their heads, and they walk around ever-so-proudly the following days due to it. "I'm so hot; guys hit on me all of the time!!!"

self confidence is different than validation.

a whole stadium of people could tell you that you are the hottest thing on the planet, but you could still feel hideous.
