i know this is so typical :P
but i've been trying to befriend this shy guy for a very long time... well, i haven't gotten the chance to talk to him yet. but i kinda wanted to... test it out first... before talking to him.

is there anything i can tell from his looking/staring?

cus sometimes... just sometimes... he would look at me in this really creepy way, like u look at him... and he turns his head slightly and he just shifts his eyes at ur direction like: 7_7 (but a slightly less pissed off face)well he does that to a lot of ppl so yeah XD does this mean he has staring problems? cus the way he looks at ppl seems like hes reli defensive of himself or somethin.

one time, this was during the beginning of when i first noticed him, he stared right at me... like straight past me or somethin... it did kind of disturb me cus back then i barely knew him and i was just like why the f... is this guy staring at me like this. i had this 'what r u staring at' look on my face and i stared back at him. this lasted for quite a long time like 5 sec. or so and eventually he looked down. so shy == it seemed like he was looking at me but he was thinking of something and just happened to look at me XD this happened another time too but less long and less awkward XD

he also joined this group on facebook called 'just b.c i look in ur direction doesnt mean im checking u out.' haha. wow. talk about paranoid == at first i was just wtf lol xd i hope he wasn't talking about me or somethin! XD

so, do u guys have any opinions on this?

He might be staring at you cuz of something you're wearing. He might think it's cool or funny looking, it goes either way. You could have a real cool quote or picture on your shirt, but at the same time you could have ketchup on your shirt.

Find a stoic, polite and courteous way of saying, "Stop being a lil' bitch and open the f**k up."

The only way is to stop being shy yourself and ask him!

Hes probably afraid of being open or having his shell broken. Wowie. He seems kinda intimidating and I'm not even the one who knows the guy.

I know that I can be shy when it is a really bad girl, but eventually, you have to suck it up, get your balls out of your throat, and get that shit man.

yeah I am not as strange as this but when I just sit and stare into space with other people in the room I am just thinking about something or I am being really shy and wishing I could get myself to join in the communication. so sometimes I am "afraid of being open".

You're inferring all of this because he looks at you. What the hell? How do you know if he even wants anything to do with you? I look at people all of the time, but that doesn't mean anything.

Talk to him, already, and stop stalking him. Christ.

On a more serious note, just walk up and say hi. If he's shy, you make up for it by being outgoing. Plus, him being shy automatically puts you as the superior figure, so as long as you act it, anything you say is the "right think to say".

As a fellow shy guy, I know it's hard for people to tell what they are thinking. Or so, I've been told.

A little tip that will help you get in their head is that alot of shy guys tend to be self conscious. Hence the shyness. And there is a tendancy that women are more self conscious than men. So, if you do befriend him, he will probably be really nice and ask you what you want to do or whatever.
