I occasionally watch it.
It's really cute sometimes.
Kate gets on my nerves though.

Wow, the more I watch it, the more I hate the older girls' attitudes.
If they were in my household, they wouldn't last a day.

yeah they've been rather bratty in the last couple of episodes... but they could be worse & i think Jon & Kate (even though they have their hands full) are doing a good job handling their little outbursts.

At times, I kinda feel bad for the older twins because they don't get as much attention. But what can you do? You DO have 6 other brothers and sisters.

You can catch new episodes on Mondays at 9 or marathons on Wednesdays...sometimes Sundays as well.
towntown2
Aug 21 2008, 08:32 PM
^^ Yeah, TLC puts on marathons of the show almost all the time.
But Monday nights are the best time to catch them.
Brattiness may be a phase, but there's always a chance of that brattiness carrying over into teenagehood.
Maybe it's a difference in parenting preferences [or rather, exposure to different types of parenting].
I do admire Jon and Kate for managing to provide their kids with some awesome opportunities [Disneyland, the Utah ski trip, etc.]
At least they're not like the Duggars.
Joanne
Aug 21 2008, 11:51 PM
I don't know... from what I can see, I really doubt Jon and Kate would allow the kids to stay bratty. I think they're just kind of letting it slide for now because it's expected of them (the twins) to be annoying and attention-seeking. Jon and Kate seem to be quite strict when it comes to attitude, so I don't think the kids being brats when they're older will be a factor.
And weren't the trips pretty much paid for them by sponsors?
towntown2
Aug 22 2008, 12:00 AM
^^ Oh yeah, that's true.
But not the kids' invidual days.
I think only the Utah trip was sponsored.
What ever happened to the Duggar family and their documentaries?
I'm surprised they never turned into a series.

My favorite one was Aaden's visit to the farm.
Aaden: "I can't see sheep!"
Jon: "You can't see what?"
Aaden: "Sheep!"
Jon: "Oh, okay. I thought there was a 't' at the end of that word."

Yeah, to say that you hate some kids on a reality show is just low.
And also, Cara and Hannah are like the sweetest kids ever. Maddy can be a bitch sometimes but what little girl isn't? I've seen plenty of girls who have a worse attitude in smaller families. At least you can tell that Maddy truly loves her siblings.
You know what other thing I love? Leah asking Jon, "Why do little girls have little boops?" LOL that was so cute! <33

I like this show, its pretty cool.
I don't like the fact that they say if they can take 8 kids on a vacation then you can deal with your kids, yet they have friends and a whole crew to help them keep things in order.
towntown2
Sep 17 2008, 05:43 PM
I'm a little uncomfortable at how much they seem to depend on other people for help.
Like Aunt Jodi. She seems to babysit them a lot, but Jon and Kate have never taken in any of Jodi's kids in return.
I understand that they are busy and they may need an extra pair of hands from time to time, but the favors seem like unreturned favors for the most part.
Except for the time they went Christmas caroling.
That was nice.

They're lucky they got a group of well behaved kids, though.

They could've turned out to be the worst bunch ever!

I'm sure Jon and Kate return favours in their own way. Taking in another child is not a productive, nor a safe way to return such a favour. They already have 8 to worry about.

I watched the episode yesterday. Aaden was SO cute. "What's that?" and she explains to him what the steamer did. And like 5 minutes later he asks again LOL! What a cutie.
I love how the kids are so sweet to everybody - like giving random people on the crew hugs. They're such sweet kids.
I watched the Duggars after J&K+8 and I HATE THEM. What the f**k was with their oldest son? They needed a freakin' chaperone with them on a date? And he asked his mom if it was okay to hold her hand...wtf?! I just don't get them.

I know, and he already PROPOSED to her too. And she was wearing the SAME SHIRT as her mom.
I realize that that is a seemingly small detail, but it's vital information. What normal girl in America would allow herself to go out of the house wearing the same shirt as her mother?! It was honestly the most awkward proposal EVER.
Joanne
Oct 7 2008, 06:44 PM
I met up with my parents for dim sum once, and ended up wearing the same thing as my mom (but in a different colour). You have no idea how embarrassed I felt. I think I wore my jacket the entire time.

^ LOL, oh man, I know how you feel. Having the same bag as 3 other girls in my school is hard enough but I refuse to change it!

Well, I ended up only being able to catch the first 10 minutes of it. They already started shooting pictures for Halloween. xD
Gigi
Oct 7 2008, 06:48 PM
If me and my mom come out of our rooms wearing the same colour, even if it's an entirely different shirt, we'll both cringe and one of us will change, without fail. Let alone an identical shirt!!
I don't really mind so much if I have the same bag/clothing as other people on the street or at school or whatever. It's just my mom. LOL

Well, you can really blame the kids. They didn't really ASK to be in the spotlight. :/ Now that I think about it, I guess they are getting most of their money from the sponsers and the shows. But Jon still works.
