My friend and I were arguing the difference of Premium/Designer Jeans. It was quite funny. lol.

Are there any differences or are they the same?
andrewexd
Not much, but I tend to use premium denim towards denim based brands and are imo are trendy types. ie 7 for all mankind, true religion etc. Designer would be more jeans from luxury brands ie dior, lanvin etc.

Ever pair of designer denim I've owned hasn't been worth the money. I'm down with premium denim.
jaeman
A cheap pair of jeans is just as good as a designer brand. Obviously, the only differences being the brand and cost.

no, not at all. Brands like samurai, ironheart, and sugarcane can last a long time without ever getting rips or tears. 3 years minimum, but I guess those are not really "designer". Also, washes are the defining factor when buying designer denim and trust me you cannot find a 600$ wash on 50$ jeans.

for example

Im not going to argue if theyre ugly or not Im just saying it costs money to make washes.
DoubleJ
You damn sure can't. I am a jeans collector, and all of my jeans are top notch.

Not to mention the wash and the denim and the cutting...
jesusisthebestthing
denim is denim. you're just paying for the name and maybe even a special design or logo.
Luna5
I've had both and they last about the same time.

there is a huge difference between denim from ae, then express (not express premium), then r&r. really, you should go try..

I actually think the quality of R&R denim SUCKS. Still dependent on the wash, of course, but in general it isn't up to par for the price. My 7 For All Mankind and Citizens of Humanity jeans are more durable and comfortable and formfitting than other jeans I have owned, including other premium denim brands.

^ how contradictory
MissFits
I just don't understand why people pay so much for jeans. I look GREAT in thrift store jeans, and they have that washed look to them because they have been washed and worn. Why pay an extra couple hundred for that look?

I have tried on premium jeans in the stores and I think they don't look nearly as good.

Andrew...

I've owned a pair of D&G denim that my father bought me. They looked good and fit well. I dry cleaned them, but after a pretty active night, the stitching in the inseam began to unravel.

I've actually began to like Levi's premium denim a lot ever since I moved away from the states.

I'm not big on the low-rise, straight-leg, fits, but the boot-cut jeans fit very similar to PaperDenim.

(and yes, I'm a guy)
jaeman
I'll stick to my straight loose 569 Levi's denim.

How is that contradictory. I used the word "other" to include 7 For All Mankind and Citizens of Humanity in premium denim brands and I said that they are the best that I have tried. Care to explain?

Sorry, but my Red Monkeys and Evisus own you all. I even own 4 pairs of Sevens, and 2 pairs of True Religion. RR sucks btw, gg Jenny. laugh.gif

You're not the only one on this forum that owns clothing by Martin Ksohoh.

Evisu is overrated. LRGeans > Evisu.

You're from Japan, I'm sure you own some Red Monkeys. Evisus are overrated, but they are still better than LRG. The most overrated jeans are Girbuads. I can't stand people wearing them. What's so nice about them? They are ugly as hell.

I know homie. What the f**k is up with the damn velcro? That shit is not fly. And those ugly ass jeans have no fit to 'em. They're just baggy for no reason.

Evisu is everywhere. Some of these Japanese dudes trip when they see LRG, its crazy.

Don't get your panties in a wad, kid.

I like the diverse designs and stylings of LRG. Since it isn't common here, local hypebeasts look view is as a hotter item to have. Get your mind right.

Haha. You're right LRG, have better designs, as oppose to evisus who don't have many. But over here in the states, well California that is, Evisus are pretty a big deal over LRG. It's because I guess it costs more than LRG, and not many people can afford Evisus. I love my Evisus For Puma. That was the one of the better collab moves. PUMA + EVISU.

We... don't... have the Puma+Evisus here. mellow.gif

Damn, why'd you remind me? I saw those before I flew over here and I wanted a pair. Time to get back on my grind.
Tung

How can anyone say these aren't awesome?

I throw up anytime anyone wear the no.2 Evisus. They are pure trash. I mean look at it. I tried on a pair, and it looked mad ugly.

I'll just have to by some.

Have you checked out any Affliction or Red Label Premium denim? That shit is spreading like a SoCal wildfire out here.
jaeman
I just go with the regular Levi's jeans, straight loose is my fitting.
