Skipping the background info here's the deal
My Side: Friend A said something about Friend B and since both are my friends I decided not to take sides, but to just say what needed to be said, and leave it.
Friend B's Side: I should have told Friend A off, becuase I am supposed to defend Friend B.
I feel I was right in staying neutral, but Friend B definately donest agree with that.
What do you think I should (have) done.

You should have told friend a that it is not right that they are talking about yuor other friend without them being there.

What you did was FINE. There's no reason to take sides, ever.

This always happens to me...but I take sides

What you did was uncommonly sensible. Bravo.

Tell her that even if Friend B hates Friend A that you can still be friends with both of them.

This is so hard. I have been through this so many times.
How I react depends on what the person said. It's always a case by case basis, but usually I let Friend A know it's okay with me if they don't like friend b, but I would appreciate it if they didn't drag me into the middle.
Sometimes what someone says offends me to the point I have to defend my friend. It's something I can't help.

Tell B that s/he can't force you to take a side. If s/he tries the "You're being a bad friend" excuse, tell them it's BS. If you don't want to take a side, then you don't have to take a side!

Just press your pointer finger against her lips. Then tell her, "I had that between my ass cheeks all day long."

Haha, ewww.
But yeh, that kind of thing has happened to me before. You did the right thing, its always better to not take a side, but you have to explain that to person B or whatever, because thats really not fair to you at all.

yeah, you guys agree that i did the right thing.
but friend b is being really vicious about this and is trying to steal my friends.
the way friend b is acting is really immature, in my opinion.
