My all-time favorite breakfast. Very caloricious.
Homeade Donuts:
Ingredients;
-Canned biscuits (Pillsbury's original buttermilk work best)
-Granulated sugar
-Vegetable oil
Materials;
-Deep fryer or skillet (to fry the donuts)
-Tongs
-Paper towels
-Paper plate
-Two liter soda top (to cut the donut holes)
- Open your biscuits.
- Using the soda top, cut the middle out of all the biscuits. Save the centers for donut holes.
- Fill your skillet about halfway full of vegetable oil, and heat until sizzling, or fill the deep fryer as required.
- Drop the donuts in. (They will sink, and then rise.)
- Cook until golden brown. (About 1.5 minutes on the first side, 45 seconds on the other.)
- Using your tongs, lift the donuts out onto paper towels. DO NOT dab the grease off.
- Pour granulated sugar onto a paper plate.
- Roll the still greased donuts into the sugar until coated.
Pizza dough works too, but they won't be as fluffy.
