To you, what is love? and how do you know if you love someone? How do we know these things? How do we know that they aren't lying when they say I love you back?

love is a word.
it's feeling i wouldn't know, other than that of loving a friend or family. in fact, i have no proper answer to your question. some people believe in it, others don't; they either choose not to believe it, or they can't, because they haven't experienced it yet. so. yeah..

I use to think of love as something special, something unexplainable.
But now it's just another word to me. It's useless and it always ends in pain and tears. Love is not worth it.
But I have felt love, and I hated it. It made me a whimp. It made me cry more than I should have. It made me hurt. I yearnt for love from a guy I knew would never take me seriously. Love made me stupid.
How can you know if they're lying or not when they say 'I love you'? You can't.

It just something that is special that the other person can make your heart pound and race while feeling totally comfortable... but it's pretty unexplainable. You just do love someone if you do.

Love. It is the feeling that you get where you think you would do ANYTHING for your bf/gf/spouse. i am pretty sure i am in love right now...i mean i love my bf so much that i would be able to let him go if he had to. But love does not just happen, you can choose to be in love and you can choose not to be in love.
If the guys says they love you and then look deep into your eyes or kiss/hug you...they probably do love you. love is different to everyone, though. it just depends on how the guy shows love. me and my boy got in a huge fight and he said to me, "i love you too much just to let you walk away from me" and then i knew he truely did love me...just look for little signs like pda...they usually love you if they are willing to show it in public!!

it's undescriable.

I totally agree, it's just another word. I hate to admit it sometimes...I don't believe in love either. I've felt it, well at least I think I've felt it?...

love? it's just a word.....the meaning behind it? it's pain, it's happiness, it's sorrow, it's a rollercoaster...it's despair, it's bliss

I define love as [1. A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness. 2. A feeling of intense desire and attraction toward a person with whom one is disposed to make a pair; the emotion of sex and romance. 3a. Sexual passion. b. Sexual intercourse. c. A love affair. 4. An intense emotional attachment, as for a pet or treasured object. 5. A person who is the object of deep or intense affection or attraction; beloved. Often used as a term of endearment. 6. An expression of one's affection: Send him my love. 7a. A strong predilection or enthusiasm: a love of language. b. The object of such an enthusiasm: The outdoors is her greatest love. 8. My first bite of love - it sucked. I tried again, and it was just mean to me.. so maybe I don`t really believe in love anymore..

I don't believe in love. Love is stupid. That's my opinion. I mean, I look at the couples in my school. To me, I think 80% of the people don't actually "love" each other. Love is way too overused. Like everyone in here said, it's just a word. You gotta wait till you're older for real love ...

love is pain..

you know when you love someone.. well thats what i think... its just this feeling that comes over you... when you least excpect it...
if you look for it, you wont find it.. it will find you..
