Sorry, but I had to make an entire topic for this.

Alicia Keys is really getting on my last nerve. I mean, she's an amazing singer and songwriter and all, but her song "No One" has been played EVERYWHERE for more than the amount of infinity. I officially strongly dislike that song, but still wait for more awesome songs she has to come up with.

What do you think?

For the schools talent show, this girl that can sing very well paired up with this guy that, lets just say, can't sing worth anything. They sang it as a duet. So let's just say she's not making it past the auditions. I think the song is okay, but songs get tiring when they're plaed over and over in more than just one place (radio station)

I actually kind of like the cd, but it doesn't compare to her last two albums.

I like the song "No One". I really just wish it would stop being so overplayed though. I still love "If I aint got you".

Yeah I'm really getting tired of that song too. I'm going to buy her CD just to here something else from her.

They don't really play it that much around here Plus, I guess I'm lucky that MTV doesn't play music anymore, because I surely don't hear it when I turn that channel on.

Agreed. I think her new cd is ok but nothing like the other ones.

"No One" is her weakest single to date, IMO. It just doesn't compare to the other ones, even that ghastly "If I Ain't Got You." I don't plan on buying the album cuz I can't stand "No One" but if I get it for Christmas, I'll gladly accept it.

I just downloaded her new album last night, I liked it.

it's hard on my ears. likie the notes she hits make me cringe and watching her sing is even worse. sure she has a lot of emotion, but she's not my taste.

I don't like her new single either.

I like her butch voice. Just not that much in "No One."

I think her music is boring but she's a good writer.

I love Alicia but I HATE this song. EWW! I always put off the radio whenever it airs. Although, it isn't overplayed here.

As for the Natasha Beddingfield comment, we don't hear that anymore in Europe She's got a new one called erm ... Incompatible I think. MY EARS! But I love her brother.

I love the meaning & lyrics to her album, but I agree with jeanna, I don't know what it is about her voice this time. I'd be listening to her new single "Like You'll Never See Me Again" & it sounds like she's whisper-shouting, if that makes sense. Her other songs sound like that too, like "Lesson Learned".

But then I go back and listen to songs like "Diary" & "Unbreakable", not the MTV Unplugged version...the CD version, and her voice fits the song perfectly & sounds amazing.

This topic is SO weird to me, because I've never met anyone who didn't like Alicia Keys. Everyone I know either loves her or is simply apathetic, but no one that actually dislikes her.

And yeah, she can totally have that butch voice. In "No One", imo, it really is over-the-top, and while most people I know are saying it portrays just how much emotion there is perfectly - ehhhhh, the voice would be ten times better if her voice was smoother.

But I do love love love "Tell You Something (Nana's Reprise)" off her latest album.
