Yeah, afraid so. I'm old fashioned in the view that girls are better off keeping their legs closed and not gaining a reputation. I'm not condoning sexual activity at all - but the moral side of sleeping with all and sundry just suggests little self respect and little regard for the sanctity of love or marriage.

I honestly don't care about being called a slut or not. The word means nothing to me. So many people define it as so many different things, but then they just use it as a derogotory term regardless of how they define it that the word has lost any meaning at all.

I don't really agree. When you call a girl a slut they usually get offended. Not in every case, but, they get offended because they know it means they are sleeping around. Sure, girls shouldn't say because it shouldn't have to be said. No one should sleep around with a bunch of different people, because sex honestly does feel better when your in love. But, as long as girls are out there hoein' it up, I will continue to use the word "slut" to describe them.

can't really say, because i don't try to get girls to have sex with me.

however, when other people, even my close friends, tell me that a girl is a slut without justifying it, i'm not going to believe it. saying "she's skanky" doesn't work for me. however, if someone i know was really affected because some chick was sleeping around with her boyfriend and our friends, then ... yeah, i'd think she was a slut.

off the top of my head, i know two girls closely affiliated with some of my friends who've definitely slept around with a good number of my friends. for one girl, i hate her guts. the other one, not so much. it really just depends on the person.

also, i'm horribly biased like that because the girl i can't stand used one of my close friends for sex, threw him off, and then used my best friend for sex, and then used another one of my close friends again. she ruined a lot of close relationships for me for a couple months.

both girls that have gotten around have had everything to do with me and my relationships with others. one of my relationships isn't totally repaired still, so i guess you can say it affected other people... but since her sleeping around did have to do with me personally, i doubt that this applies to the question.

Some of these things have NOTHING to do with being a slut. I've done ecstasy and plenty of other drugs but I have only had sex with two people. One of whom I dated for 3 years before we had sex, and the other one I am marrying. Being a High School dropout? Are you serious? I finished High School but I know plenty of people that didn't. Are they out hoein' it up? NO! They are going to get their GED. And, finally, just because someone dresses "preppy" doesn't mean they are a whore (although in my experience a lot of them are) It's not fair to judge ALL of the rich kids by the actions SOME of the rich kids take.

yeah, I've been called slut/whore/whatever before
and the fact that someone's name-calling doesn't really phase me
but it's the mindset behind it which bothers me.
for example, i hooked up with this one guy at a party and both of us were single, both of us had fun, and we both partook in the same level of sexual activity that night (won't go into details here..hahah). but for some reason (generalization/stereotyping/sexism, whatever you call it), only I was called a whore and he got away with pats on the back and people calling him a pimp, which really isn't fair, considering we were both on level playing fields and neither of us acted "sluttier" than the other. only difference? gender.
now if we were both called whores or whatever, then I wouldn't be complaining
