it's like if u were using a laptop. u can get on the same ones that are public, u can get on ur own wifi network at home. at places like hotels where u have to pay to use it, the same rule would apply to the ipod touch. any non encrypted wifi network

u don't have to pay for it. unless u were somewhere like a hotel that didn't have free wireless. then if u wanted to use it u would have to go pay before u could.

ive gotten alot of different answers to this from everyone i know.
some say Nope. You don't pay apple to use the internet, you pay your internet service provider.

NO! .. you don't have to pay.. wi-fi is free unless there is a password or they ask you to pay for it. Most places that have wi-fi like Starbuck and malls give the internet away for free
&&
Yes. You have to buy a router and connect it to your internet modem. Which transfers signal to your iPod touch. Or you can go to some McDonalds and pay 5.00 to use their wifi internet. Or you can use your neighbors internet illegally if they have a router. Or you can go to Starbucks. That's basically your options.
anyone that HAS one please can you help me.

that is the answer. if the wifi ur trying to use is free then it's free to use. if ur trying to use password protected internet then u need a password. if ur somewhere that they require u pay BEFORE using it, then if u want to use it u must pay them before u can log on.
