But anyways, There's no point in making a fuss about it. I dont really enjoy the idea of old people having sex.

When I mentioned this to someone the other day, she thought the same thing, but was confused because he'd died. As if they didn't replace him

The original actor. The guy playing Dumbledore in the first three movies isn't the same as the one in the 4th and 5th (maybe the third; it's been a while since I've seen it... I can't remember).

He was the perfect Dumbledore.

I mean, Dumbledore doesn't start going over the edge till later in the books.

All it had was showing daniel radcliffe's face, and saying that someone on harry potter was gay. . . so i assumed, oh okay, daniel radcliffe is gay. well, not to suprising there i guess. . .
lol, but dumbeldore being gay. . .
hm. . . i'm not too suprised,
it seems to fit into his character.

well what about... TOM RIDDLE? AKA VOLDEMORT?? i always wondereed about him..if he ever had a femal lover. i remember in the book dumbledore said something about him being fond of the snake nagini but i've always wondered if he ever had a human lover say when he was in school or something. they did mention he was very handsome back in those days.

Nah. I think JKR said in an interview that Voldemort hadn't loved anyone but himself.

um, wasn't that a HUGE part of why Harry was able to defeat him because he could LOVE and Voldy couldn't?

It's not that he's gay, it's that he has a specific sexuality...I always saw him as asexual. No one was good enough for him. He admired the beauty in some women but their intelligence and wisdom wasn't up to par for him. So, the fact that he fell so in love with someone he admired brings him down to normal-person level when I thought him to be superior. He's just like the rest of us, and that's a letdown for me. I thought he was too good for that.

I think that's more indicative of the fact that he doesn't have to try very hard to cast difficult spells, not that he's gay.

Well I don't know about that; the last book was enough to show us that Dumbledore was a lot more fragile and fragmented than he appeared. DH already sufficiently made me feel that he was a lot like a normal person. We sort of place him on a high pedestal, but sometimes we forget that he's just a wizard (a very powerful one, but mortal nonetheless).
While Voldie was definitely a non-lover, he could be gay. You never know. He could lust after, be attracted to other people...I'm willing to bet that there would be tons of women lined up for him. Or men, you know, whatever. This being Voldie, he'd throw them away after using them. He probably found power in satisfying himself while demoralizing another person. This is not love.
Of course, these are purely theories...This is why I sometimes wish Rowling wrote a less kid-friendly book. Just so we could find out about these things...

See, I like that it made him more human. I know what you're saying Sammi and yes, he did have this untouchable quality. I just like that in all this mysticism and mythology, there's some grounding as well and bringing to light his sexuality made him more real (for lack of a better word).

I also really liked it better when I thought he was asexual and just no one was good enough for him. This is kind of weird to me...maybe just cause it's difficult for me to think of an old man as gay. I don't know...it's just difficult.
So, like, he'd reproduce by himself? :P
And psssh, I'd hella buy a novel that's geared toward an older audience. Twice.
