HI ERRRYBUDDAY!
Well, not everybody. :P Just the Senior kiddos. So, let's talk about the oh-so fun application process. -.-
Has anyone started on anything? Personal statement? Common App? :]

If anyone needs help with their college apps or personal statement, I actually have mines for you to read for a guide or example. This was the personal statement that made me get accepted to UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, UC Irvine, and UC Davis. :)

I haven't started my applications yet, but I'm not applying to schools that are really hard to get into. I'm retaking my ACT soon, so after that I'll apply. I'm hoping I do better on my ACT because I actually plan to study this time

I finished my UC prompts and filling out the CommonApp info...and half done with my personal statement. AHHHH SCU EA IS DUE IN TWO WEEKS. And I haven't even started the supplement. :( :( :(

Kaycee - I didn't study and I got a 21, which is around what a lot of my friends got. I was really worried about time, which made me get really nervous. They expect you to read and remember graphics and statistics and then answer 45 questions in 30 minutes about it. To me, I thought it was crazy. Since I'm Special Ed. I can opt for extended time. So I think I might do that. If I pair that with studying, I'm bound to get a better score.

Same here. My uber-geeky friends are all applying to American universities, and worrying about SATs. I'm like...f**k that, I'm not taking any SATs. I figure I'll apply to a local university now, do well, and get another degree elsewhere. It's the final degree that counts, anyway. So it's just UBC/SFU for me now, although most likely UBC.

My school didn't require SAT scores. They were optional.

Honestly, there's nothing wrong with either UBC or SFU. They are good uni's so whatever. *shrug* They're fine. What are you going into?

Dooon't worry about it, it's like, a page long. I'm doing EA for SCU, tooooooo.
In fact, all of the private colleges that I'm applying to I'm doing EA, just to get everything over with. So that's USF, USD, UoP, and SCU. Oooh, and now I'm looking at the Claremont colleges.

I just got back from Iowa. I visted Drake University and I really like it. There's only 3,000 students there and the campus is gorgeous and people in Des Moines are so nice

Then I went UI where it's in the city and they have 30,000 students. Now I have something to compare other places to. I'm going to hate living in dorms.
CowerPointyObjects
Oct 26 2007, 11:46 PM
Dorms really aren't that bad at all. If nothing else, I really like being able to knock on people's doors to have them do things with me, rather than having to constantly call people. Being able to walk downstairs and know there'll be someone to talk to at any hour of the night is nice too.
Sammi, I know we've discussed colleges before, but where all are you actually going to apply?

I've been applying all week.
I've had the week off from the fires,

I still gotta write a few essays,
waiting on some letters of reccomendation
but then I think I'll be done?

Oh, wth, I should've checked Facebook first.

Really, Chicago people are known for being nice. NYC people are the ones known to be mean. The only time I can think of Chicago people being construed as mean is if you don't understand how to cross the street. If you don't make sure cars aren't coming, people will hit you. *shrug*
