I'm ashamed to say that I've never read it or seen the movie. But I'm reading Wicked right now and I'm so in love. It's about the life of the Wicked Witch of the West, her childhood, upbringing and such. Basically, what made her into how she was as an adult. It's an adult book (lol, I wasn't expecting this many sexual references or bad words).

The weird thing is witches were characterized as being skinny, bony, with greenish or grayish skin, a pointy black hat, dark black clothes, and carrying a broom. I forget the word that describes this.

Anyway, how's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz? It's a classic but is it enjoyable?

I haven't read the book, but I have seen the movie. I think I'd rather read Wicked instead Wizard of Oz. But who knows?
Maybe I'll end up reading both.

I've read the abridged version of The Wizard of Oz when I was a kid; I loved it! Also, the movie is one of my favourites of all time. I can't say anything about the original, unabridged book, but I'm sure it's just as great.

I've never read the Wizard of Oz book, I did plan too but I just didn't. The movie is old, but such a classic! biggrin.gif

I've never heard of Wicked?

I watched the movie a lot for classes in elemtary school. I didn't really like it that much, but that was just because there was a connection between me and a character and people would always make fun of me for it.

Ooh! I have never read the unabridged version of it either. But I think I am going to read it because of Wicked. I saw a copy of it the other day and it looks great.
