drinking 8 glasses of water daily is healthy because it helps you lose weight and it helps your body get rid of extra fluid.

I LOVE WATER
SinfullySweet
I drink about 4 bottles a day. I love bottled water, but too much of it starts to taste bitter. For me atleast :)

I think water also helps your blood to run smoothely, and helps elminate waste :)
RAWRstephishere
It makes you pee a lot.

I drink, like, 3 cups of water a day. T_T It's such a bad habit. I need to drink more, b/c you can see the signs of my lack of H2O. I have dry skin and stuff. >_<

I would have to drink constantly... And it would get uncomfortable, drinking when you're not thirsty. I usually get about 16 oz of water a day (size of my Nalgene bottle), not sure how many cups that is.

Yes, I do too. I don't understand how people don't like it, or even hate it! Doesn't make sense.

I drink a lot of water all the time. laugh.gif I actually need to go get some more.

I barely drink 8 glasses.. I drink other liquids, but for plain old water.. probably 1-2 glasses a day? But don't other liquids (milk, juice, etc) count as water?

Your body is already in need of fluids when you are thirsty. You should drink water before you're thirsty to keep yourself properly hydrated.

It has become accepted wisdom: "Drink at least eight glasses of water a day!" Not necessarily, says a DMS physician Heinz Valtin, MD. The universal advice that has made guzzling water a national pastime is more urban myth than medical dogma and appears to lack scientific proof, he found.

That's certainly not to say that water isn't essential for your survival or health. I think someone just took the rough estimate of 8 glasses a day idea and ran crazy with it.

Regardless of the fact that the whole "water = clear skin" has no actual scientific proof; when I drank tons and tons of water, I had the best skin I'd ever had. Coulda' been psychological, who knoooows, but it worked!

^ Placebo effect maybe? I think it's more than just drinking lots of water. I mean, it could be horomes and just your skin type. I guess I have pretty clear and even skin... maybe it's because I drink water. I tend to not drink as much water when I'm in school... just because it's not the most comfortable thing to have to pee during class and hold it until passing time.

Same here.

I like water, but I never drink anything close to eight glasses of water a day. I always have to have something else like juice or milk everyday.
