i wanted emily browning to be bella too! :[ oh well, this kristen stewart seems good enough.

now on to edward! HE BETTER NOT BE UGLY!

i thought emily was perfect for bella-i always saw kristen as being too tough looking, but after thinking about it, i think she's more able to handle it.
as for edward-you can ugly up a person all you want but you can only pretty up somebody to a certain extent!

That is Johnathan Rhys Meyers in Vanity Fair. Robert Pattinson was in that movie, too. I've seen the alternate ending with him.


What bugs me about this casting choice is that Stephenie stated before she wanted an unknown, someone not over 21 and not foreign. Robert is known in pretty much the biggest fandom ever (Harry Potter), is 21 and hello, foreign! They might as well have cast Gaspard! (He just turned 23 last month.)

He should definitely not play Edward. o_O

Now that the fact that EDWARD CULLEN!!!!!!!!! has been cast has sunk in, I'm cool with Robert playing him. I can actually see some Edward-ness in him. (And the fact that he read the books makes me like him just a bit more.) He'll never be as perfect as Gaspard but that's okay with me. I'll reserve my judgement until AFTER I see the movie.

In this picture, his hair really reminds me of the color that Edward is described as having.

Even though that last statement is true... they sure could have selected someone better than Robert Pattinson!!

Oh my gosh. So far this cast list is 0/2 for me!!! I can't believe it. Haha. I don’t think Pattinson fits the description of Edward at all! This is terrible. Edward is supposed to be flawless!!! And well... Pattinson is certainly flawed, in my opinion. I can't stand how chiseled his face is. GRRR!

But for the record -- I could go insane over Jonathan Rhys Meyers. I once spent a night googling pictures of him... He makes me melt! Oh god. He was to die for in Match Point. But I don't think he can compare to Gaspard. Sigh. I almost wish Stephenie Meyer hadn't brought up Gaspard so that my expectations of Edward wouldn't have been nearly as high. You can't expect for Gaspard since anything less is just intolerable.

Robert Pattinson's face is too wide, his jawline is wrong, and his eyebrows are too thick in the website picture (but at least that's fixable).
