I see your point, but at the same time, I think Edward is a lot more open to what Bella wants than Jacob. I mean, Edward even said that if she wanted to be with Jacob, so be it [even though he would be upset, but I mean, come on, anyone would be in that position if they lost someone they love]. However, Jacob isn't really looking out for Bella's feelings; he is just going off kissing her and being all "You should be with me I def like you better!" And all that "screw Edward" bull. But heyy, that's just what I think. Not bashing Jacob... I just thought that it was strange that you mentioned that Edward controls Bella when he allows her the biggest option of all; her heart. I feel as though Jacob is more controling or at least tries to be.
He doesn't have a choice when it comes to her heart. If her heart changed to Jacob, Edward wouldn't be able to live with her always loving someone else. He gives her the choice because he realizes that he doesn't have one himself.
Jacob already knew her heart. Jacob knew Bella loved both he and Edward, it's proven. He didn't know how to show Bella, he was desperate for her to know and make her choice so he wouldn't have to go through life wondering, go through life loving someone who refused to believe it herself.
He bad talked Edward because they were rivals. You have to be kidding yourself if Edward wasn't always calling Jacob a dog, or telling Bella she smelled like one. They both couldn't stand the other because they had to share the woman they loved.
Edward isn't some sort of angle from heaven with a huge and good heart while Jacob is this horrible boy trying to steal his girl. Edward would have you believe that, but that
isn't true.
Imagine finding your soul mate, knowing she is your soul mate, knowing you could have had a life together, and your mortal enemy has her. Kisses her, god knows what with her...if you had a chance to receive her love, would you try?
Jacob cares
too much for her feelings.
And she gives up her entire joyful life with him--including children and her family--to be with the vampire. That is how Jacob and I both see it. It's a choice that is totally alien to me. She gives up her security for an overwhelming and all consuming
need.
I can't see that being a healthy sort of love. There are things that come with love, and she's given up all of them. It makes me so angry and sad and fskdjfsd. You don't give up true love! You don't give up security and family!
Ugh.
