Believe it or not, I have only read the first one. I have never read the second one but the movie makes it more understandable. I know I won't be able to read the third one because there is already a movie out on it. The fourth and fifth ones I will probably never know because without the previous storylines, the fourth and fifth ones will be like some kind of gibberish!

I second the vote for the fourth one. In my opinion, her writing gets better and better with every book. I think i heard she was going to go back and re-write them to make the first ones better, actually

Good for you! I wish, but I was subjected to the first 2 books in the series before I came to the conclusion that it's not worth reading even though there was a lot of hype surrounding it.

3rd and fifth books were the best. although it's kinda ironic that those books were when we first meet sirius and when he dies.

I'd say the 3rd book is my favorite. I saw the movie and no offense but the movie kinda made the book look bad. I mean the book was really, really, really good and the movie was just really not as good as i thought it'd be

THIRD ONE with not hesitation! Even if her writing was not as better, the story overall hits its climax right there. The second is the worst so far, because it was slowly crawling to the climax. The fourth and fifth are okay because it seems like it's droning too much, and reading a person's diary.
Harry Potter may not be as good and deserve the hype and all...but it definitely should be read. I feel sorry for the people who never took the chance/time to read it

By the way, everyone who skipped books 1-3 just because of the movie...I reccomend you to read the books and forget about the movie (even though I think it'll seem weird). The books are definitely better, the movie wastes my time.

tha 4th one is really good it keeps you interested but so is the 5th on... i would say right now its a tie between the 4th and the 5th

i cant wait to read the 6th one too... does anyone know when its coming out??
* and i agree with crazeegirl411 because the books are wayy better than the movies... the movies leave out alot of the detail that the book had...

Hmm, a lot of people don't like the fifth so much because it's sad, angsty, and Harry sounds like he needs some anger management. But, I like it the best. There's more about the Marauders (in
their time! I love them

), and the Order, and it's just more realistic (well...as realistic as magical book can get). I really like the fifth, even though ___ died.
