Yeah, they sound pretty ignorant as would any other race, including even black folks, for using that word. It seems that people are just treating it as slang or as a "cool" word to call your friends but they obviously are not sensitive to the history and the real meaning of that word.

And I mean, wouldn't it sound or look stupid if you saw some black people talking to each other and referring to each other as "chinks" or "japs" or something. Well, thats how it looks when Asians refer to each other as "niggas" or "niccas" or "ni99as" or anything of the sort.

I have to agree w/ you there. I hate it when ANYBODY says the N word. When Elizabeth Eckford came to our school to talk to us about racism and such, she opened a lot of kids eyes and told them that using the N word is degrading to society because even African Americans oftentimes use that word at my school and I don't like it. A lot of people of different races do too and I feel like grabbing their face and just pulling out my whip...okay...nvm. You get the point =D

I am white but I hang around with azns n blacks n basically everyone (including whites too but not many) so I have been called a wigga, a wazn, and other things I cant remember. It doesnt bother me because Im used to it BUT every once in a while my black friends go overboard and really say too much. I hate being white honestly because it seems like no one will ever leave me alone for it! So my opinion is I dont mind the N word but it should only be used among friends otherwise it can start things among people and thats not good!

I've been reading some posts here and for some reason people are equating ghetto=black. Being "ghetto" has to do with how you were raised and where you grew up and what you are used to. Not what race you are. Even tho some of you may not like people when they act "ghetto", sometimes it's all they know cuz that's how they grew up. And of course there are those cases where people just try to fake it.
